Projectors
Don't know if I will be the first or what, but I will be having Audi RS6 Projectors installed in a pair of OEM head lamps by hidretrofit in about a week or so, it will take a week for him to fit them, and then I will get them back. got tired of driving with hids and not being able to use them to their full potential. These projectors are Bi-Xenon so I can still have high beams. I will post some more pics once I get the housings back, and once I install them.

so far, 160 shipped for a new pair of OEM headlight housings, 202.50 shipped for the projectors, and then $350 for the projector retrofit. I already have a D2S compatible HID setup so if you want to count that aswell, though I bought it almost 9 months ago, that was 399 from xenon depot. so in other words alot. I got money to burn right now and I was this to work so I am just putitng it on my card for now haha.

I was considering Civic projectors like the other guy, I saw his thread a while back and last I read, it was put on hold for quite a while. I bought the Audi RS6's because the cutoff line is so clean and very easy to mod to get a colorful projection so you get that light flicker like the high end cars... or like this guys retrofit =)

that was me who was trying to retrofit the civic projectors. i havent' had any luck finding anyone to cut the chrome housing of the civic projectors to fit inside the lancer lens. i thought of giving it up - and just doing a really cool paint job on the lamps instead..but i really dont know yet? I had considered doing the .wwwretrohid.com or whatever but he was charging me like $400 or so, and i was like ' sorry bro

the avatar is my hid's right now, without projectors, you can see the brightness that they give out haha. with the projectors, things should be alot more manageable, and it will be nice to have a functional high beam again.

ok, I figured I would post some before pics so people can see why you should NOT USE HIDS WITHOUT PROJECTORS! I really just noticed how much glare these things had the other day myself, doesn't bother other cars because mine are aimed so low, but this is what is causing people to blind other and what makes HID's so unsafe to use if you are not responsible with them.
so whats the morale of this story? maybe once I get these installed we will have a better idea of what needs to be done for the lancer to make HID conversions a bit more affordable, I am doing this not only for me and the other drivers on the road, but for the lancer community! ill keep this thread updated as I get more updates. I hope it will help educate others a bit more.

4300k. bulbs and ballasts are phillips. The look blue if you look at the housing but at other angles it looks white and even yellow so it is probably just glare making the light appear that wayl.

I wanted some 4000k HID, but i want a bright purple color. ive read so much HID faq's and if u want bright u gotta go low tempature, but more color/style u lose light output..dont wanna go too far off topic, but i am looking for to the projectors u're working on man. picking up my slack. cause i pretty much gave up!
