New Recall For 2004 Lancers Es,ls,oz #c0505j
^because I don't want to deal with this rpm hang issue. maybe it doesn't really matter to some people, but I think it will annoy the hell outta me. I dunno, maybe its diff between manual's and auto's, who knows, but I drive a manual, and I don't have to keep my foot on the gas as much as you would if I were driving an auto, so I think it would just bug me a lot.

The rpm hang annoys the hell out of me, edealer drove my car and said I didn't notice it so they are not ordering me a new ecu, funny how they will not ride along with me to see the problem. Problem does not happen when I drive like my grandma, but I never drive that way, I am always power shifting or shifting above 4k rpm's, and it does it every single time. Now what do I do since regional says it's up to dealer after they test drive to verify problem?
yea this hang is really annoying the hell out of me, im drivin my beat up ol pickup today cuz its just so irritating to drive. probly goin to the dealership tmr, they told me on saterday when i called them back not to reset the ecu and that it should fix itself within 50miles, well i put on about 300mi since it was done n its still doing it.
does n e one elses idle jump all around too? when i park, mine goes down to about 600 then up to 2200 then back down and settles at about 1100

i dont really get it...u mean like whenever u stop ur car, ur rpm keep jumping around? like at every stop light? or does it only happen when u strat ur car? whenever i dont drive my car for like a week, when i first start it again my rpm jumps up to like 2.5k once and then settle at around 600....

I believe its while driving from what I'm reading. Guys say it happens when they go above 3k while driving, then they let their foot off the gas, I believe they are saying. And seriously, I'm pretty sure everyone has experienced their rpms jumping around when you start the car and having it idle to warm up, but I've never seen my rpms go above 2.5k just idling, so I figure that can't be the whole rpm hang issue a lot of the guys on this thread are talkin about. It's too common for it to be a issue as this rpm hang thingie is.
and for this rpm hang thing that everyone is talking about, is it sorta like ur rpm hangs even after u let go off the gas? so doesnt that make ur car keep running thus create a potential hazard of not being able to stop as quickly? if i understood it correctly, maybe i shouldnt bring my car in for the recall.....
thats exactly what I'm thinking, but I'm not sure, I haven't experienced it since I haven't gotten the recall done either. But like you said I don't want to bring my car in and have this issue happening to me, cause 1) its going to annoy the fack outta me, and 2) I'm wondering if it would be a hazard like you said, so thats why I'm hoping some of the guys on here who are trying to figure it out, will get it resolved. I know its kinda bad, using them as guinea pigs, but least somebody is takin the initiative to see this matter resolved, so much props to guys hopefully finding a way to get this fixed.
okay the hang happens say when you are shifting... you let off the gas and kick in the clutch, the rpms just sit where they are for a min. This isnt so much as a safty issue for you stoping as it is hanging between gears... so you are in neutral. What i am worried about is the tranny... its like power shifting, not the best thing for the tranny.

Exactly, EVERYONE needs to call regional and raise hell about this, they said it was up to the dealer as to whether or not to replace the ecu, and my dealer said no for mine and my car still does it, so since I already have a lawsuit with Mitsu for "other" unrelated issues(factory paint defective and been repainted 3 times from head to toe and still afu'd), I called my attorney today and this has been added to my list of complaints, the more complaints the more money I get out of them!

they tried some various steps as i stated earlier, but now they are set to replace the ecu on friday.
well as it turns out the tech told me one thing and slovak another. He told me, my car gets a new ecu to fix the hanging problem. long and behold he tells slovak i get a new computer b/c i have a low and high idle... ( i've noticed it being kinda low at time and high at others.... 550 that or it likes 950ish). so Im not sure whats going on, i will talk to them when the car is in there and try to figure this out.
