New Recall For 2004 Lancers Es,ls,oz #c0505j
How the hell could they have reflashed your ecu Dan? I went also and was told they could not reflash, only upgrade, in other words go foreward with a flash, but not the same or cannot even go back to what it was prior to the flash. Anyway I have an appointment next Wednesday for them to test drive, if it does it for them, they reorder me an new ecu too, but the problem I have with it is when they program it it will get the same flash we now have which has caused us problems, go figure.
I don't think I am every experienced this problem. I'm going to take my car out tonite for a long drive and see if I notice anything. The only sticking I've felt was due to my throttle cable.

Slovak, the Tech was the one who told me he re-ran the re-flash on my car to see if it would take it better... he said at first yes.. then it came back... So he ordered an Ecu from MMNA or wherever they come from and said it will have all the code on it just like my old one did w/o the most recent reflash to see if that takes car of it... he said the only thing was inspection... but my car is not obligated to go for inspection.
Okay... last night this rpm hang came in... and was very noticable. When i shift at 3.5ishk it will hang there for a min. I would suggest everyone wait until this is figured out forsure. Im going in on monday ill post up more info.

Ok, so atleast its just not a select few... do u have a modified intake? im not sure, but the dealer asked for my mods... he asked how the car was running before the flash, i said perfect, exactly how i would expect a 2.0 sohc fwd rally car to run... chuckled for a sec and then he said it may be that the new software isn't as mod friendly.... but he doesn't know, just his thinking...
yea it will be about 3k and up where it does hang.

i found that it wont really do i before 3k... also... im not totally forsure about this... but i didnt seem to happen if you arent on at least 75% or so throttle i cant be sure about that fact or not... and it doesnt seem like the revs drop as nearly as fast either.
well i took it in today... they said they got a bulletin regarding this and that the ecu just needed to be reset to learn the new flash. So guys if you are having this problem unhook your neg to reset the ecu. Ill keep you all updated to see if the hang comes back after a few miles.
Just got my letter today....guess I should take her in and see if I get this "hang up" issue. I think I might mention it to them before they do it...maybe they know about it already.

i just called mitsu HQ and they gave me the code for the recall. then i called mitsu dealer and they said just bring it in and itll take about 30 minutes. whats this about seeing if your car does this. just call HQ or the dealership and say you need it done.
got my letter bout the recall yesterday, but gonna wait to see if peeps get this whole "rpm hang" issue resolved. Hopefully 03RallyLancer has his resolved just by resetting the ecu.

whats the point in doing all this. just take it to the dealership and let them do their thing the way its supposed. its free and doesnt do anything bad to your car.

no it did it once and i havent noticed it since but im still gettin it fixed just for my satisfaction to know theres nothing wrong with it. just keeping my car updated. oh and if you meant after i got it fixed? my bad, i havent had it done yet. I have an appointment tomorrow around 3. but because its only happened once, i probably wont notice anything.
after driving it for 2 days i have yet to notice it again... and i have been putting it in the same situations that made it hang before... it kinda pisses me off that this fix was so simple b/c i had to give up autox event.
finally got my letter the other night ... i talked to this guy at my job with an evo ... he said that he experiences the RPM hang as well ... said "it was like someone pushed the gas" ... ive only felt this a couple of times ... this is my first car with a stick so i didnt know how its supposed to feel but i did get the weird feeling like i was still on the throttle ... Is this a part of the recall cuz i only see "warm up catalytic converter" mentioned on the letter
