I think you meant 240-250 per tank. But if you do get 240-250 per gallon, let me know what your secret is!

Obviously its per tank. If it were per gallon, I'd want to know my secret too!

Just got back from a 1500 mile road trip. MPG was an average of 32-33, thats about 340 miles to a tank. RPMs were at 3250 @ 80 MPH and 3600 @ 90 MPH.

How many miles can you go after light is on?

Hey guys, I was just wondering about how many miles our lancers can go once the gas light comes on? A friend told me that you could probably go about 50 miles, but i find that hard to believe...any opinions?

depends on how many miles you've gone once it comes on.... It's important to reset your trip odometer every time you fill up. I take the number of miles on the trip'ometer, divide by 10 and then multiply by 2 to get the distance at which the car should come to a dead stop. This is also useful for figuring out whether you're gettting consistent gas mileage (i.e. you go 276 miles every tank before the light comes on, but then during a crap week commuting you only go 239- stop and go traffic is then shown to be bad for your gas mileage)

I think for lancers you probably have about 15-25 miles before your tank is completely dry.

usually it's like 2 gallons left or so when light comes on..so i'd say 50 miles sounds about right or so..
