Correct. It's supposed to come on when you have 2 gallons left. Sometimes they're a little early, like my car. Sometimes they're late. I filled mine up when the light came on, and only put in 9.5 gallons.

Just pay attention to how much you put in to give you an idea of how much fuel you have left when the light comes on.

 

Mine usually comes on at around 200 miles, but I've driven up to 267 and when I went to fill it up there was still about a gallon in the tank

 

I pushed it to 84 km once my light came on once...then got gas. Wouldnt want to go an further.

Because when i fill up after my gas light has been on for a while i usually put alittle more than 11 gal.

 

i checked the book a couple weeks ago it says it comes on with 2.2 gallons left but i have no idea what we get as far as mpg goes probially would be good if we all didnt have are foots to the floor but hey whatcha gonna do lol

yeah whenever mine comes on i usually fill up within 5 miles and it takes about 11 gallons each time.

i went 53 miles once after the light came on...it didn't die...so i was happy lol

 

I always wondered this.. I have heard you have about 20-40 miles until you run out after the light goes on but I won't test it. If the light goes on, I stop at the nearest gas station!

 

our tank is about 12.3 gallon, lights come up when its only 2.3 gallon left. so 50 miles would be good. but most of the time when the light is up, i go look for the gas station right away, its not good to let the car died cuz no gas...

Yeah same here, last time I checked, thought it was 13.2. Little fogged in my mind, but I think that is it.

Yep. I've filled my tank back up when the light came on just to see and I filled up about 11 gallons.

 

yup, when my light hits i'm usually at the 10-11 gallon mark and i can then go 40-60 further and still be able to get gas.

 

Just wondering how many miles the rest of you can get with a full tank. I get a little over 300 miles per full tank and just wanted to compare with some other Lancers. Please say whether you have a manual or automatic and if it's stock or modded. I have a 2002 lancer es stock with automatic transmission.
