Don't forget to get an EGT. With the incorrect settings you could melt the internals.

Take off the wing, less down force, more MPG
also get a rear defuser and everything else everyone said (new air filter, plugs, reset ECU & drive slow)
always make sure your tire pressure is set to a MPG friend level

Tell me you're kidding. I could actually believe it on an Evo because that wing actually creates "some" downforce, but the Lancer wing is purely aesthetic. As a matter of fact, if you look at the wings and spoilers of most consumer vehicles, the trunk is sloped down to make the wing appear steeper, when it is actually no more than 5 degrees off from being parallel to the ground. It's also proven that most spoilers don't have a noticeable affect of downforce until you go beyond 100 mph. This radically steep (30 degrees) aftermarket Camaro spoiler even disclaimes that it only produces downforce in excess of 70 mph. If it saved anything at all to remove the street wing, it would be somewhere around 0.001 mpg. Just my .02

btw, I was thinking even lowering the car would have a better reduction on drag than removing the spoiler. Just a though, but I think it would still be minimal.

I didn't see that it was a reg. Lancer, but I have heard of people removing the EVO wing and getting a big MPG increace, like 30-40 more miles a tank

yeah, I could see it making a difference on an Evo with that big wing (although I would have guessed less than 30-40). But the Lancer wing is so little and flat ya know? btw, we're in a US Lancer forum, that was my first clue it wasn't an Evo. But I wonder if they have documented any mpg difference between an Evo with the small wing and one with the large wing???

if you want to save gas, be careful on mods; they ae just going to make you want to drive faster

question abou SAFC-II, my friend has a turbo eclipse and he says that N/A are not going to really notice a difference. Anyone that has it or know alot about it, are the gains both noticable and worth it?

MPG Average

Just wanted to know how everybody is doing on there MPG. I just would like to know if im using to much. I know it based on many factores like the way you drive and what kind of streets you drive on but i just want to make sure my car is not sucking too much gas.

right now i get about 18 to the gallon

I drive in southern cali and most of the time im on the surface streets.

So just let me know what you are getting and where you live and what kind of steets you drive on the most

Your car IS spitting it onto the street. That is absolutely horrible... are you drying with all 4 flat tires?

18 mpg is horrible, you defninitely need to take your car to a shop asap. i get about 27 mpg and the only mod i have that would effect the mpg is my short ram intake.
