The Ultimate Milage and Gas Milage Thread!
i get 260 when the light comes on, and its almost ALLL city. if i drive slower and not aggresively i get 275 when the light comes on, since i put on my SRI...ive never got below 250 when the light came on, REGARDLESS of how i drove.
cant wait for headers and downpipe with full exhaust...hehe hmm hope it gets even better lmao
all ig ot is custom SRI and axleback....soon ill be getting the Konig Heliums...17x7 and they only weight 16lbs...so that makes me happy, haha

^ yeah that.. i get about 280 per tank using it for 80% city driving.. this is on 87 octane btw. and just for comparative purposes, when im cruising at 60mph, im usually at 2200 rpms i think.. maybe even lower. i dont hit 3500rpms till 75-80.

i get about 240-280 depending if i push my car hard or not...thats with AEM CAI and a greddy exhuast...im gonna start to monitor my gas mileage with the PB now....i was getting about 200-220 with my header added to that mix but i recent ly took that off...all of this on 91 octane...
i have a 03 Oz 5sp and before my CAI i was running around 250-275 a tank..then i dropped in a CAI and 10w30 Royal Purple Full Synthetic oil and i started running a hell of alot better gas mileage, around 275-325 city/hwy driving. at 65mph i'm pushing around 2500rpm..but i run my car pretty hard and don't have gas issues.
Some things to consider:
- do you drive in heavy traffic or hills a lot?
- what RPM do you shift at? (friends tell mer 3500 is the best for economy)
- do you drive with a lead foot?
- if you ride the clutch, it will slip, killing both your clutch and your mileage.
- how heavy are those rims?
- are the tires larger diameter than stock?
- Your CAI turned into a SRI might not be a good idea. AEM didn't design it as such, and their SRI is a different product.
- 93 octane will have absolutely no effect on your mpg

mileage is off when you upgraded to larger tires w/ different revolution per mile.
Example: Your stocker rolls 1000 times before it counts as 1 mile. You have upgraded tires either 1200 rev/mile or 800 rev/mile. Will your mileage change?
That's why tirerack.com has sich stats on most tires.

oh my gawd, this is my post... i also get crappy gas mileage. Beat me i get 12 miles a gallon (maybe a lil more), and thats no joke. My only engine-type mods are axelback exhaust and i get low ball mileage. I even bought a new filter (a cheap STP one) and still no luck. So i got a SRI and hopefully this can improve it, honestly im too my witts with this gas. I had half a tank this morning, 8am... by 7pm... tank was on empty! Guess where i went, to work, to the mall, my mom house. Guess what, all together thats less than 60miles... AHHHHHHH, im gonna throw my lancer in the trash can. On the freeway my gas is really good, but the streets, im so scared to drive her, i wanna walk sometimes and gas aint cheap, even thou its comming down a penny or 2 at a time, its still HIGH!!!
I ran a 03 and 04 Lancer, I still have the 04 and it was getting 400 Miles to the tank when I was driving it but that was non-stop freeway action. Now my wife drives it back and forth to work all streets and she's getting 280 to a tank. I'm not sure why I've seen so many differences but the car never got real bad gas milage...Now if you think you have bad gas milage now drive an evo the way you drive your lancer and you will really see bad gas milage. If I'm goo dI can squese 300 miles out of a tank but I've tought my self not to worry about it and fuel up every other day. Try that for fun.
