This shouldn't be a problem if you use Royal Purple. Just check the dipstick for the purplish hue. But really, that's just starting to make the whole process, well... a process.

To the original poster, my dealer charges 30 bucks for an oil change. The salesman threw in 3 for free when I bought the car, but I only got two before I decided to just do it myself. The dealer's not exactly close and to drop it off for an oil change became more of a hassle than a convenience. This way I get to do it on my own schedule and make sure my preferred brand of oil is used.

Yup, I'm bringing my car to the dealership tomorrow. I think its 29.95. I used to do my own oil changes on my old car, but I'll leave the first one up to them.

Now, I gotta find the little 3 free oil change stickers that came with the car lol!

Hmm... Im DIY kinda guy, ill do as much as i can just to learn and save $$... but if it is necessary I dont mind paying...

Oil changes!! - DIY! :-)

+ you know what filter / oil is being put into the car.
