By the time I am done all I want is 220 whp and with some more boost and exhaust I will be there. My ultimate goal is to suprise some SRT-4's and nothing else.

Re-read your own thread, no one with an Evo even posted. The lancer guys brough it up.

I understand you didn't exactly say it was Evo guys who messed up your thread, but you posted in this thread, which made it seem as if you were contributing to TURBOit's complaint.

TURB, you always have my support. You've shown persistence and done what needed to be done to get the kickass setup you have. I hope you don't leave the Lancer community, but I understand why if you do. Just remember that wherever you go, there will be *******s and haters. Don't throw away the barrel cuz a couple apples have bruises.

As far as performance goes, I'll always agree that an Evo is better than a Lancer. But let's face it, there's a large difference here. If I could have bought a $35k high performance car, I would have bought... an Audi TT but hey, I can't afford that much for a car, let alone paying for insurance. I wanted a reliable, affordable transportation. And since I have a racing addiction, I mod my Lancer to satisfy that. So the Lancer is the best choice for my situation, as it is for others. If any Evo owner go into Lancer forums just to dis the Lancer, they're just bragging that they can afford a faster car... probably ***** envy.

i've got to admit that w/out trying to ... i am probably guilty of the same sentiment you talked about. But then again i give props to ne mitsu driver on the road, especially lancers ... cause mine's a LANCER, but most of them dont see me so i kinda stopped. Neway, we had an evo meet last week & i invited a lancer guy to come check it out b/c he loves lancers & evo's. Dude had dedicatin drove 3 hrs ... but he was cool & we all had a good time.

I mean how many thousands of ppl dogg on upgraded civics??? sayin they r rice n wat not.... but how many more thousands of guys like urself mod da hell outta dem? probly hurts when it comes from a sibling(evo) but u cant let ppl control u like that. damn if u like evo then get an evo later y waste time thinkin... oh i don wanna be part of that "mindset". Dont u see ur being just as dumb as the evo owners who bashed lancers??? If u really dont like evo then dont get one. I see nothing wrong w/ modified lancer ... hell i bet there's plenty of modified lancers that could beat my evo in qt mile.

Other than a "few" factory differences (i.e., different hood, ic tc, turboback exhaust, rims, brakes, and more welds, etc.) are there that many differences from the Lancer than the Evo? I remember someone saying they had "a lancer on steroids" with respect to the Evo.

It's like an SRT-4 looking down upon/bashing a Neon owner.

Most economy sport compact cars are slow and ugly from the factory (i.e civic, lancer, focus etc.... ).

All you have to do is do a couple of tasteful mods to the car to make them look nice.

Here is an example:

I love my lancer as much as the next guy. You know what really pisses me off when you tell people that you drive a lancer and they get excited and ask if its an evo. When you say no they say oh and ask why you didnt get an evo. Then i get pissed and say something like i didnt have 30gs around to **** away.

God i hate people like that. They onlylike the evo because of 2 fast 2 furious. They dont know ****!

Why are you guys worried about E-owners' opinions? If it's snide, it comes with the territory.

It's much more creartive to think outside of the box. Look at people in PR what they have done to the lancer, RA, and mirage . . . they are like 2-3 steps ahead of their American counterparts.

The above link is a 4g mirage w/ a 1.5 liter and 3 valves per cyl.

It ripped out 1.74 sec on the 60' and finished the 1/4 at 11.478 @ 119.82 mph.

I even have a vid of an Evo 2 (lesser tech than a 1g DSM) ripping into the high 9's.

i agree with what everyone is saying for the most part, i just wanted to voice an opinion, i'm not trying to classify myself, look at my car, thats enough said, i just think that people are getting into cars for all the wrong reasons

dont get me wrong, it doesnt bother me as much as the post indicates, and i like all versions of the evo for what they are, and i know my lancer is just a basic copy of an evo, but thats the point, i bought a car that wasnt based for a midrange performance sports car, and made it just that

the evo is a sports car out of the box, and no matter what people think, its main job is to tear up rally circuits, not drag, if anyone here thinks an evo is made for dragging they are dead wrong

i just wanted to get a voice out for lancer AND evo owners on thsi subject because its a hot topic that just broils, and i took the lid off, if i wanted to get an evo i would, but theres far too many cars coming out now performance oriented

i could go on and on about the history of mitsubishi, about cars period, i just think that evo owners need a reality check, and whether or not this is it, i am actually somewhat happy with the response gotten, everyone here has been very mature and educated and i respect everyones posts here, but what some of you evo owners dont see are the various threads of an honest lancer asking something simple as to a wing only to get completely flamed in the post, and you see hide nor hair from that evo owner in a thread like this, its just something that needed to be brought to attention
