I understand what you mean. I really don't even understand why some people look at forums of rides they don't have. I personally like to get all the facts on the car I own. Yes I do read other forums, but only because I like to see what they sat about my ride. Now please don't take this the wrong way, but for most people (at least I think so) think of Evo as in 4g63.

 

US Lancer is the ****......i really love my lancer...it's really smooth and fun to drive...

 

yup, and if you say "evo" thats what should come to mind, because someone buying an evo should be versed in it, but people aren't i bet there are plenty of people who have the evo who just got it for image, and i think thats the problem we are facing, but hey, it happens, but personally, i dont think anyone should own an evo for that reason, its not that kind of car

 

I Love all . Every time i pass a Lancer, Eclipse ect. ect. i smile and wave. I think you need to realize that there are also allot of people who talk crap about the evo. Most people around here were i live talk down on the evo just becouse of the name and popularity. To be honest i have been contiplating on selling the evo becouse of the attention it gets. Ya i know everybody is saying what the hell are you talking about? Well maybe it was my daughter being born? Dont know but just been thinking about it

I had been kind of a stalker on these forums for a long time before i finally got a name and posted. I looked at every part of the forums including the evo sections. At first i really wished i woulda been able to get a car with more stock power but then i looked at some peoples whips. Turboit, Boe, ZooRacer, and some other people really inspired me and got me to love the ride im in. I see the Evo almost as a completed work of art that is quite hard to personalize. The Lancer is a canvas that is calling u to put your own personal signature on it. Thats why the US Lancer is so bad a**!! Apples and oranges man....

 

Any way you look at it you should always support and care about the car you own because it yours. One time in my life I had a Dodge Neon (no srt-4) and I loved it. lol

 

evo owners tell us to get a evo, because they simply don't understand we are not as financially stable as them. they they have been rich most of their lives, with mom and dad bring home 100k a year (at the least) well most families only make 40k a year. so there's other factors.

but the main thing is that us lancer owners cannot afford an evo. so we just go with turbo.

 

yeah and don;'t sell you car. you can get evo power just by getting a custom turbo for around 5k, then spending 2-3k on your internals. and you got 300hp for 8 k.

 

I also had a neon, bodykit, wing, all the **** like that, placed well in several shows and I loved it. Then a suburban decided it was time for mine to leave this world. I went on to an eclipse and now my lancer es and i love the little ****er....LOL

 

Lots of differences. You missed one of the biggest ones: The engine. AWD drivetrain too. As far as bodywork goes the hood, front fenders, rear fenders, front bumper, rear bumper, rear doors, and the trunk are different. I think the only parts shared are the front doors and the roof.

 

Lets not forget the basic architecture of the unibody frame. Almost all of the hard points on the car are the same. Trust me, Im not trying to downplay the differences of the two cars, but they share a common root much deeper on the design level than just doors and the roof. Common body pannels though, yes I believe only the roof is the same stamped section.....The doors are wider to compensate for the wider wheel wells of the Evo....

 

You will see this mentality on every car forum...try going to a Mustang forum when you don't drive an '03/'04 Cobra...

I'm not an "Evo guy" or even a "Mitsubishi guy"...I'm a "car guy" I love nice cars, be it a Lancer, WRX, R32, STi, etc...

BTW...for the guy who posted that Evo owners must have rich parents, not all of us are kids... and I paid for mine myself with my hard work...

my homie ruben has an evo and he loves my lancer, likes the look. He even wanted my tail lights. He was the one who told me to get a mitsu, if not an evo either a ralli-art or lancer and i did. I mean all you evo owners, besides the accesories that come with the car its still a LANCER, its on the car... its in the chasis. The car is a lancer souped up, PERIOD. So why diss us lancers owners, your driving a lancer yaself.
