Quick help on taking flow metter out?

Hey all,

I'm trying to install an RMR intake and i'm following the steps...but at one point i need to take out the air flow meter from the air box. It mentions to use an impact gun, but don't have one available. Is there any way to take this out without using one of these guns?

i've kinda stripped one of the bolts...so i'm not sure what other option to do...

thanks for any help!!!

are you talking about the mass airflow meter???? If so you do NOT need an impact gun! There are four bolts and i think they are either 10mm or 12mm...all you need to use is a 1/4" drive ratchet...if you have stripped one of the bolts completely you may need to get ahold of a dremel and cut the head off...I will also stress the fact that on the inside of the MAF there is a screen that is extremely fragile...don not touch it with your hands or you will bend the vanes...

hey...thanks for your help and advice...i used a socket wrench...but once i did it slowly..it broke the plastic that was sorrunding the metal head of the screw...i don't really want to cut it as i don't have a dremel drill...i'll try it again..but reeaalll slow..

EDIT: i did use a racket wrench..and that's what broke off the plastic sorroundings....it looks like the screws have some type of coating, almost like glue that make them bond together tight...

i was able to prop a 6" wrench on the inside of the box while loosening the nut on the outside.
