how to take off 09 lancer auto shift knob

I have an 09 lancer gts and I can't figure out how the shift knob comes off...the silver base of it twist a little left and right but when I try to pul it down it doesn't budge. Does it come off?

Keep twisting to the left (you have to muscle it). After the silver plastic piece slides down, the rest of the knob pops right off.

Thanks for that. I want to switch the knob but i dont know which ones would fit and which ones would not. I was told that shift knobs for the manual transmission will not fit onto the CVT transmissions rob. So is the rod on a manual different from the rod on the CVT? Please advise.

this isnt the japanese site but here is a rough idea. i believe they might be the same knobs as on the japanese site. when i said it was 240 that was a long time ago. as they went down in price:
