https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=66953 has the basic how to on taking your dash apart, instead of swapping the cluster, just over lay it and be sure to not to mess up the needle, then just splice into a 12volt source.

You have to slide it from the right and point all the needls to the right. Its kinda tricky, but its the only way to get them on without fn up the needls. Mine rubbed on the 0-120 mph guage so I just got some double sided tape and put it between the stock guage and the reverse indiglo guage to pull it down. It worked and has been working for several months now nock on wood. .... You could also try to pry the needle up slightly with a flat head screw driver. I hope this helps bro....

The black piece you put back over the gauges push the pieces down, you shouldn't need double sided tape or anything else, and as for sliding the gauges over the needles, the hardest one I had was the speedometer, basically I started on the left, and let the overlay push the needle up - not forcing - until the black peg went through the hole, then just drop it and the needle should float down - same goes for the tac.
