I say get a Mirage and do the conversion.
That's my goal for next year.

When I'm done I'm going to have an Evo VI and VII.

Well they have these hub conversions for 200$ that also make the wheel base 3.5" iches wider which should put it perfect with the fenders. But yes the front fenders are way wider, and the rear im using sheet metal and it should be about an inch wider than the normal evo fenders and about 3 inches wider than what it is now. Ill put some pictures up in a mintue. Check it out, they old headlights are way off from the evolution ones too. But i have found a killer deal on everything so far. I ordered better brakes and the seats will be in the car in 2 weeks. But with a turbo kit and the whole conversion it will be 3k. So then i can sell it and buy a real evo and not owe money on it or make payments like everyone else who owns one.

Are you suggesting that you're going to sell your kitted Lancer for enough to buy an Evo outright? I'm sorry but that's nuts, often times modified cars go for less than stock cars.

i Just put an album up of it so far. But i think if it turns out good enough. Then i should get more than book on the car which is like 6K and a used evo 8 can get as cheap as 12K so im hoping to get somewhere around that range or close enough so i only have to pay another 2k. which i can do.

You're not going to get 10000$ for a 6000$ car with a body kit on it. If someone sees that for 2000$ more they can get a real Evo with double the HP, double the drivetrain, double the brakes, etc., why would they buy a Lancer?

Well double the drivetrain and brakes yea. But it will be turboed and im buying the OEM Recaros for it. It will only be missing the brakes and awd setup. But i have seen a couple Evo's for 14-15k which is pretty cheap, and closer to my price range. I'll show you guys how. I am usually pretty good at finding deals. Im buying the whole set of the Recaro Evolution racing seats for 300$ the MR headlights for 400$. I'll show you non-believers. And if worse come, i can sell it for a little less and save up more.

A turboed Lancer is not the same as an Evo and a turboed Lancer is not worth more than a stock Lancer. I would never buy a car that was as modified as a turbo on a non-turboed car because it's too risky. You have to have complete faith that they bought a good kit, installed it properly and maintained it well. If you want an Evo, stop pissing money away and save up.

Hahaha too late for that. Already have the front end on it =/ And sorry evo lovers but my dream is to own a Subaru Impreza STI with 500hp. But the more i see Evolutions the more i like them. I am very set on what i want to do. I will feel accomplished when im done with the lancer at least. And some people wouldn't mind the price if it was done right and looks better.
So i will post pictures of the progress, i was hoping for encouragement for doing something different from Lancer fans. It wouldn't take nearly as long to save for an Evo with selling my car for as much as i can. Otherwise it would take a year or 2 to save for it as the car was. I bought it wrecked for 800$ and it needed just about all the front end parts replaced, so why not make it WAY sicker for a few hundred extra.

I see a very big lesson in your future, you never make more on a car than you sink into it. If you spend 5000$ upgrading a car, you might add 1000$ to the value if you're damn lucky.

Exactly. IMO when i'm looking for a car i don't want something too modified. Especially if it has to be reliable. You don't want something that could have been ragged on. You may get a little bit of extra money, but you gotta know how to sell. I honestly wouldn't buy it. Mileage becomes a factor too.

If you are building the car purely to profit, make it as stock as possible. I have yet to see someone make money by modifying their car. 99% of people end up taking a massive hit because people inherently do not want a modified car, it's too much of a risk unless the price is low enough to cover any major problems.

well if i could do a full evolution swap on it. im sure i would get some money for it, because it would be an evolution but you would pay insurance and registration on an ES which would save a LOT of money. Which is going to be my selling help hahaha. But im focusing on getting looking good for now, the car looked like **** before. Thankyou thunderZ

Except that you wouldn't. First off, a Lancer with a swap is just a Lancer with a swap, even if you swapped the motor and the drivetrain you would still be missing the brakes, the extra seam welds, the exterior, the interior, etc. A swapped car also has to be insured differently if you want the swapped parts to be covered. If you're happy getting the value of a stock ES in the event that you crash the car or simply getting your insurance flat out denied for fraud, be my guest.
