I like it, though, to be original!

By the way...I like how you used an engine and kept the stock trans. It makes the switch easier because you don't have to change the drive train. I bet your shop also used better strength gears if they opened up the transmission. If they didn't, well, I guess they didn't.

I know...and I like your car, it's beautiful and it's original. I wasn't knocking you at all. I like when people can do it themselves, but if they can't, I like when they are smart and are willing to let professionals do it. Good work. Can you post more pics? Sorry if you already have...

yeah i emailed them on the price too. they said the 12000 CAD (roughly 10000 USD) was the total cost in the end. Included engine, installation, all modification to transmission and everything else.
Jesus, if you added the price of the lancer you could get a wrx or something along those lines for that, hell you could almost get an evo for that (with the price of the lancer as well).
But the car would have AWD, and be legal. Engine swapping is illegal last time I checked, if you get in an accident and they find the evo engine under the hood you're screwed, not only will they not cover it, they would in all likeliness cancel your policy all together.

i didnt know it was illegal, but if you dont report it to your insurance, then yeah, they wont cover it. and AWD isnt always the best, thats why the srt does so well, you just get real bad wheel hop.
