04 lancer with evo 6.5 tme swap
I'm sure they're illegal here (Canada). We have a weekly program on sport compacts which always has a segment with PACER (a police group who educates people on street racing) and sure enough it's illegal. Most insurance companies won't cover it since its no longer has an engine designed for that car, thus they have no idea what could go wrong.
About 10 grand USD, it's about the normal evo swap price. I thought the price should have come down a bit after seeing an Aussie done his swap for 2/3 of such cost (this year or so) . . . around 00, another Aussie had done one, but his cost was around 10-12 grand too. Probably add +2.5 grand for AWD conversion.
At such cost on a new lancer, you have probably dumped around +75% of a new ES sticker price.

If it's the current market cost to do such swap, it hasn't change from mirage owners since 1997, except for modern aussie owners.

no i'm not saying anything about similarities or differences, I'm just saying that the two cars are different. Ones a mirage, ones a lancer, i understand the engine and difficulty of swap are the same, but they are still two different cars.

did the shop tell you exactly what was needed to do it. Harness Mods, Bellhousing Adapters, Crossmembers, etc? just wanted to know all the parts they needed to get to get it done so i can keep dreaming knowing there is a way.
