Asking all Lancer owners with paint issues to please read.
silver 2002 
Oz rally editon (19000 miles) paint chipping off both side skirts and chipping off rear bumper. I have had fixe this probllem at 5000 miles but the paint is chipping again. Also i noticed the color is kinda of bleached out kinda of discoloring?

black 2002, half inch hole on hood where paint is missing and it is rusting, driver side side skirt rusting, trunk lid missing paint and rusting....going to Mitsu tomorrow
2002 OZ, Yellow one 1/8 chip on passenger rocker panel. (total maybe 40 people have used that door in a year and this was there a few months after purchase, may have come loose by use of garden hose during cleaning?

chipping - almost like a sand blasting effect behind rear door in FRONT of lower portion of rear fenderwell.
this is NOT from just average rock chips - this is a seperate problem on the EVO because of the way the air moves along the side of the car. the air moves sand and small stones in a path that hits this area in FRONT of the rear fender down low.
behind the front and rear fenderwells where you would expect to find some chips there are none.

2002 silver OZ Lancer with 10,000 miles. Paint chips all over hood. Paint chips on passenger side rear quarter pannel. Paint chips started around 4000 miles. Use Maguires Gold Class wax and wash car every other week. Hope this helps.

2002 yellow OZ 29000mi. Paint chips to hood show shallow depth to primer. One spot shows rust. Chipped paint to both front door undrskirts. Paint fading to greenish color on bottom door frames . At first I blamed my kids for kicking side skirts while exiting and entering, but after reading many posts on this matter over the course of a year with members having similar problems I believe we have an issue with 
My kids ( all young teenagers!) have been careful cause they love the car almost as much as I! I also take meticulous care of my OZ's appearace and mechanics as all of you.

OZ lancer 2002 a year in may 20,000 miles inside my doors (taking pics to show) by the weather stripping is breaking down rear bumber don't have the same feel of paint the rest of the car has it's gritty like it hasn't been sanded properly. and a few chips in very random spots than would not be cause of daily use.

2002 yellow lancer OZ, paint chipped off the sideskits the weekend I got it. 19000 miles now, paint is cracking behind all 4 door handles......NO ONE HAS EVER SAT IT THE BACK SEAT.......Back door only get used when I clean the thing.....so I'd say back doors opened 2 dozen times......this pait
