2002 Lancer ES: Rio Red. Paint is chipping on the corners of both sides of my front bumper and in a small place on the rear bumper as well.

I have a Yellow 2002 OZ. Had it since july 02 and after the first week paint started to chip off of the side skirts. Also notice that there are red specs on the car as if they were in the paint. when i wash the car, no matter how hard i try they wont come out or fade away. Front bumper and hood also have little chips on them. Could i take it to the dealer and have them repaint it????

02 Thunder Grey OZ, no chipping on sideskirts or bumpers or hood. However, the clearcoat on this particular car looks as if a fly landing on it would scuff it. I thought my '88 Ford Escort GT had bad factory paint (it actually had hair(s) dried within it on one panel ), but the Lancer might take the "winner" in this contest. Now that warmer weather is almost here, I'll break out my Griot's garage stuff and perform some paint surgery.

Wow. We brought this up almost a year ago.

Paint peeling off under the doors on the good ol' OZ rocker panels. Started at less than 5000 miles, now I'm at 24,000.

As for paint chips, yhea. Those are everywhere. Front and back, side to side. Bare metal, some even down to the black plastic in the A-pillars. I've even got one in my damn gas door.

Just too lazy to take it in, since the last time I really looked into it, someone here took it in and Mitsu needed the car for 3 days. Sorry Mitsu, I work 40 miles away, you wanna give me a loner?

...didn't think so.

I'll get it in this spring, once it warms up a little bit more. That's what a warranty is for anyway.

Oh yhea, '02 Yellow OZ.

Are we still pissed about our paint? Is anybody getting anywhere with their dealership or mitsu in general? I found another chip in my hood today, right next to the grill that's about 1/8" in diameter. There's a new one on my door that loos like /// I swear to God if I wrote "Ralli" on one side and "Art" on the other you wouldn't know it wasn't a decal!
I've sorta resigned myself to taking my autobody guy's offer of the layered fill this summer, but damn! I started having paint problems TWO MONTHS into owning her...

2002 Thunder Grey - no fading or major chips, but tons and tons of surface scratches. I only have under 14,000 miles and I have scuffs and scratches everywhere. Will the dealer fix these FOR FREE??? anyone know the status of a recall?

2002 Mitsu OZ Lightiining ( insert laugh here) yellow - I have paint chips all over the hood, I have chips on the sideskits that the stupid touchup paint made it even more ugly! And I even have an ugly up and down paint chip on the front lower body kit.
