Asking all Lancer owners with paint issues to please read.
The day I bought my EVO it was raining so they told me to bring it back when the weather was nicer and they would detail it. It rained for like 4 more days so I didn't bother.
When I finally got a chance to wash the car I noticed brown spots in the paint!
I immediately called
and they said to bring it in.
I got a couple big whigs to look at the spots and they confirmed that the spots were indeed in the paint. They then tell me that I will have to wait for some regional manager to come down to take a look at it
They better fix!!!!!!!!!!!!

i found the same spots on the roof on my thunder grey oz...look like paint as been splattered w/ acid or something and ate down to the metal...do we have any updates on where this is going...bc i would really like to have it fixed...also have the horrible swirl marks from washing...only hand wash with the expensive *** mit...and dry w/ terry clothe...cheap *** paint...

allready and get this **** fix.. i beilieve wee have more than enough for a class action suit... i haven't kept up with this thread but i hope mitsu is taking care of this if not SOMEONE get this thread to them
or just give me the e-mail or fax number to the RIGHT person at

ive listed some of my problems a few pages ago.. i'm going to write mitsubishi a complaint letter about their paint.. it might not do any good, but i just thought i'd let you guys know. i'm gonna say that various people i've spoken to with lancer have had the same problems that i've had, and i feel they should reconsider their paint/painting method because it seems like cheap paint. any other input? (i'm also doing this as an assignment for one of my classes..i should get an A on it

Ok, finally got a chance to clean her up and take a good close look.
02 OZ Lancer, Thunder Grey, no peeling, one small rock chip on hood, right over grill. As rough as the roads are locally, I'm really suprised that is all I have.
Also, I just installed a SRI, and when I removed the stock intake, the little scoop right behind the grill had rubbed the paint off down to bare metal. I need to cover that.

they will have 2 regional guys at the dealership on monday and they want me to bring the car in for them to look at.
but this is only for me.
they said that EACH SITUATION is different and would require an inspection. i did let them know that if that were the case they better hire some people to start doing inspections because of the amount of people on here with the problem.
what is the easy way to email this whole thread to them ?? do i just keep clicking email this page.. at the bottom ??? i'd rather send one email than 9 ya know? less annoying that way. i'm printing out these pages right now for those regionals that are going to look at my car on monday. but i'd still like to know how to email just the whole thread once. I don't want to link them to here so they can say it was a broken link. with one e-mail i'll get a return reciept that they recieve the whole document (advice from my lawyer buddies)..
oh by the way i think they ran out of paint for my trunk .. it looks like a fake half *** grey powder coating job if you can picture that.
p.s. if i were you people i would call mitsu customer care on monday and start scheduling for a regional to look at your car, reason being is this:
i doubt regionals have loads of time on there hands to do inspections so if a lot of people have to get inspected these regionals will probably get annoyed and start dealing with this on a larger scale rather than one by one..
so just call up and DEMAND someone higher than your dealership manager looks at your car.. and ONLY take a "no sorry we can't repaint your car" answer FROM a REGIONAL manager.
it literrally took me 15 mins to get this accomplish. if you don't have 15 min to do this, you straight up deserve the paint job you got.. .
