Yeah I don't get it either. 1/4 times can be used to give a rough estimate of power but it's not an exact science.

 

You're comparing apples to oranges. Unless of course, you're trying to say a stock Accord and stock Evo on are on the same level...
And I know the Lancer wasn't meant to be a sport/performance car, that's why there's a 200% difference in horsepower between them. It was never meant to be turbo either, but that doesn't mean people don't do it. Hell, Civics weren't built for performance, yet I've seen those at 500+ at the wheels. You're acting like God himself came down and blessed this car to have 400hp.
I've seen a 1.5L Mirage make 200 at the wheels, compared to its 92 bhp, on a light setup involving 11 PSI and minimal fuel mods. Add in nitrous and you could be close to 250-275 easy. Cam, port-n-polish, full engine management, reworked head, and alcohol injection could easily* make over 300 at the wheels. And that's on a SOHC 12v 1.5L engine made to get 33 MPG.
So I will reiterate again; it's nowhere near impossible, somebody with deep pockets doesn't really have a limit on what they can do. 2000hp cars attest to that fact.
Finally, what does it really matter to you or me that it does or doesn't make that kind of power? It's not going to affect me tomorrow, I'm still going to try and push out what I can from my motor while maintaining the ability to drive it on the street and without blowing it up. I don't see why you're so hellbent on proving to a guy that's not even here that his car doesn't make the power he says.

i thought i would chime in on this, this car is actually boosting 22psi, it has one of our stage 2+ kits with a timing/fuel box and a fully built motor and trans. last time we spoke the car was pusshing 350+ whp and ran the 1/4s in the 11's. this is a very fast car and has been very reliable from what i've heard.

 

$45,000 including the cost of car, paint job, etc... little things add up.

 

This thread got out of hand real quick. I've been talking to the guy and starting to see that he might be making the power he claims to be. The only thing I wonder is why he's selling it.

 

I've been talking to him for a few months and he's given me a lot of helpful advice as far as turbo charging and building my lancer. He's in his upper 20s and works a lot and has a family to support. Seems like he doesn't have the time to play around with the car like he used to.

 

o and alot of my parts did come from road race bro u got me so mad i cant even type they help me out alot with my car ty brian

u know i was going to sale it so i could pay for my wife to go to school but **** it i love being hate on just make me do more to it and get more power

Where is the proof still? If this is the car I think it is, I remember hearing about it a year ago and there's still no proof of the claims. Not to be an ***, but evidence is everything.

If you want us to believe you, proof is a necessity. This is the fundamental rule by which all science (and logic) operates on. As for the rest, please keep the e-thug attitude off of evom, it doesn't help anyone.
