Windex
Windex
I just took my car for a car wash which I usually do myself but this time I took it in for shampooing and everything. They call me for my car and I walk around it and run my finger along a trim piece. My finger comes up black. The guy then says he will take care of it and begins spraying my car down. I ask what he is spraying all over my car and he replies that it is Windex. I am no expert but isn't Windex a type of acid used to cut through grease and stuff like that? The question I am getting at is whether Windex is safe on paint or not. Anybody know?
next time tell him to shove that windex up his ***. If its a professional place they should be using top end products that will help, not hurt your paint. Im pretty sure windex is not good for your paint.

OK folks, let's get the facts straight here.
Like DJ Doubt said, ammonia is a base, which is the exact opposite of an acid. With that in mind -- chill.
I wouldn't recommend cleaning the paint on your car with Windex all the time, but a little bit, especially a quick touch-up job, won't hurt. Ammonia won't remove wax unless you sit there and scrub it off...
