Lancer Auto into 5spd
if you do the work yourself which I would do your only paying for parts. not to expensive really. I dont think its that hard. May take some time to pull the engine and all but I have time.
well the electrical end of things may get sorta grimey, but being an electical tech, all I will need is some diagrams and I'll be golden...
But so far from the looks of it, can get everything minus clutch and flywheel for less than $1000... But thinking I will put in an LSD, Lightened Flywheel, and Upgraded Clutch in... Figured since I have it apart, might as well do it all at once...

Tranny Swap
I've done tranny swaps on other cars like civics and chevy's and lexus. As for the lancer its going to be a bit difficult for you to do a swap like that but not *** expensive and not impossible. Things to watch out for that may differ are mounting brakets, where cables and hoses run, ecu, interior parts, and also to do it right it will require you removing the dashboard and I say this because you need to secure the clutch pedal to something really solid which will require you welding and you would want the dash to get in the way of doing a good job plus if the clutch is hydraulic and not cable then you will need to get access to the firewall to put in clutch master cylinder assembly or if its cable u'll need to drill through it properly to get the right clearance. I have know people to do these swaps and did a half *** job then when they raced the clutch pedal broke away completely and caused them the race and even sometimes their ride/life. Going from manual to auto is way easier than going from auto to manual. I'd look under/around a manual lancer 1st before doing the swap. Never let anyone tell you it cant be done or its stupid to do so cuz if ur determine enough anything is possible (as far as manmade stuff goes).

I'll help ya wit it if ya serious about doing it. let ma know.
Yea if someone knows exactly everything that is needed, that would rock... I emailed a guy at a dealership and he told me to give him a day or two to get everything together, as far as what is need and dealer cost... Just to gauge things... No way I am gonna pay dealer cost... NO WAY!!!
glad to hear you are making progress...keep us informed of price and stuff
in regards to the clutch pedal and clutch cylinder, usually this just branches off the brake pedal and there will already be a pass through for anything that has to run through.
As stressed already, find a buddy with a manual and start scrutinizing the key areas to see what is different and what is not

dont give up
well yea i given a round and round and i also goign to do the swap. i been looking around and im getting everything i need to swap it to manuel for only 875(hopefully cheaper since they didnt have the part when i went and they said they did and waisted my time and gas. since i dont got the full amount im going to make some payments and then when i finish i will get it its like saving it to me)also that guy knows a guy to swap it for me and he owns his performance shop in my city and i thinki could make a good deal on putting it on if not i will do it my self. but yea im not giving up because alot of people say u need to know how but if you dont start you will never learn.so hopefully i get this done by the end of the year.
Yea, I haven't been that lucky with pricing, paying $900 for everything would be sweet... But then again, I have yet to visit any junk yards... This is something I am going to try and do myself... Seeing as I have another car to drive while I work on the lancer, it's no biggy... I am probably going to gut my interior this weekend, to look at the pedals and whatnot...
And good call, don't give up... This definitely will beat spending $8000 on a used manual...

Nothing new for me. Can't seem to find the transmission. I'm stuck on step 1.
Saw one on Ebay, but I lost it. Plud, I've been wanting to keep it local.
What have you guys found so far?

my 02 OZ is about to get a 5spd in the next few days....with used transmission and everything to convert it is gonna cost me about $2400 including labor. its always nice to know someone who knows someone, but its even better to know how to do it yourself.
