Neither. Those are found in RWD vehicles.

It's the breather for the trans. No that isn't your problem.

So why in Clutch kits it includes ThrowOut bearings and a Pilot Bearing/Bushing?

So finally after a month of waiting. I had got a chance to get the trans out of the car and to a local shop. It seems that the Input shaft bearing went south and destroyed allot of stuff. It’s never good when the shop calls you back and says did the transmission catch on fire. They told me they could fix it for 1400. So I’m going to look for a good used one. Does anyone have any good ideas on where to look?

Because it's either a generic description or written by an idiot.

Trust me, I've had the transmissions out of probably 100 Lancers. There is no pilot bearing.

As for your input bearing, I doubt it would just go out like that. Instead they usually make noise first. I think it's just the slave cylinder.

Just wanna let you know, some FWD cars have pilot bearings, and it was prolly just a generic description, as most automotive box's are, flled with * everywhere for "more info" =p.

Nissan's do , I know older Honda's do. Theyre not just RWD specific.

But the Lancer does not have one.
