accelerator problem

Something strange started happening with my accelarator the past couple of days, Everytime I start the car up when it has been off for a while the accelarator seems to stick up and i have to apply some force to push it down initally. After that it works fine but it seems like it gets jammed but there is nothing there that is blocking it, it almost seems as if it is locked up for a second and if i put some force on it and it goes down and starts working normally. I have no idea why this is happening any ideas?

How cold out is it. I know sometimes the line can bind up inside the sleeve or in the hole in the firewall if there is moisture in there and it freezes. The presure youre putting on it is to break the ice . . . i think could be totaly wrong

It is not very cold, im in az so its around 50 degrees at night time. Also, this problem first happened yesterday when i reinstalled the rrm piggyback and it was worse then and so i disconnected the possitive batter and reconnected it and now it is only doing the sticking when i first start up the car as opposed to everytime i came to a stop and tried to accelarate.....but i dont know if that has anything to do with it....

I have this problem as well. no piggy installed on my car tho. And it doesn't seem to be temperature related, happens whenever the car has set for a few hours

okay i had the same problem. The butterfly valve in your throttle body is getting stuck. You throttle body is either dirty or you need to adjust the idle bolt. (not the one on the top covered with the rubber plug). Try cleaning your throttle body out first and then see if it goes away. i dont think its the piggy too cuz i had the problem when i installed my headers. I cleaned them and now its been fine ever since.

that's a start. if cleaning the TB doesn't show any difference look into the EGR system. sounds like the EGR valve may be sticking open.

on a much simpler note --> when you start a cold engine, aren't most ECU's programmed to rev up a little before returning to the 'natural' idle in order to get the oil circulating?
