Electrical short?

or

Try turning that little wheel to adjust dim the gauge cluster lights? (you probably already did that but just wanted to make sure)

yea, the little wheel for the dim switch does not work, it makes the ligths go on, or off, no dim. It is weird because the gauges work, the check engine light, and all that comes on during start up, but when i turn my lights on to drive at night the blue illumination for the speedo, tach, gas, and egine temp don't. also the clock usualy dims a little when your lights are on, and that does not work either. unfortunately this means i cannot drive at night because i cannot see my speed.

Well you can still drive at night just go with the flow of traffic. If you really can't stand seeing your speed at night just try to go get it fixed at Mitsu or something. My old Maxima's speedo broke and I couldn't tell how fast I was going, EVER. I got so used to it that I don't look at the speedo when I drive at all anymore. I just go with the flow of traffic.

have any warrenty left ? The only reason i ask is b/c tracking weird electrical problems can lead to insanity and sitting in a corner drolling muttering about which wire is the ground and which is the power . . . make the dealer go nuts instead

Oh, that sucks. Uh, I don't know what could be wrong. You have any friend that are electricians? Lucky for me I went to a vocational high school, so I have all kinds of people to ask about all kinds of things. Sorry man.
