Gas mileage problems

Hi, I'm new to the forums, so whats up everybody.

My car seems to get about 225 miles per tank, isn't that pretty bad? My car is completely stock and I recently changed the oil and plugs, and I always check ym tire pressure. What could be causing such bad gas mileage, and what could I do to fix it? Thanks

It was getting bad gas mileage before I changed the plugs, but it seemed to only get a slight bit better after installing them.

My car gets pretty much the same gas mileage, so this would be an awesome thing if someone could figure it out, because I have an exhaust, headers, SRI, and crank pulley, and those are all my mods, you'd think my gas wouldn't be so bad.

Just for reference, I made 333 miles per tank with 680 inj. cams and other mods of course custom tuned.

That means you only get about 19 MPG. Do you drive it pretty hard?

i get about 260 per tank, thats with very considerable driving trying to shift before 3k rpms. Max I have gotten out of a tank was 271 miles but that turned on the low fuel light . Also all stock waiting to get some parts and tuned.

I get on it sometimes, but not all of the time. I Also just got the RRM short ram intake and the pulley today so i'll see how my gas mileage is after I put them in.

Could be driving it hard but if you only get on it sometimes I don't see why it nwould be so low. I would imagine that the crank pulley would improve it a bit but I'm speaking from experience when I say that you wont see MUCH of an improvement with and intake(it makes your engine sounds pretty cool though...lol). Also my dad said that I might need my valves gapped/seated? I dont know if that should be done at 50 000 miles or not but it might have to do with bad gas mileage too?

A few possibilities are dirty fuel injectors, old tranny fluid, dirty air filter, or a bad EGR valve. I would start by looking at the air filter and putting some fuel injector cleaner in, then moving to tranny fluid (only if over 60,000 and haven't done it yet), and last check the EGR system. You might also want to replace the PCV valve (pretty cheap and they can affect milage too).
