2010 GTS Engine problem...maybe?

Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum and new to the mitsu community. I just recently purchased a wicked white 2010 Lancer Gts and so far loving it. I have a few questions though, it seems that sometimes when I start the engine it does the norm. car makes the click sounds then when I turn the key to turn over the engine, it will turn over but kind of bog for a second then its good, as if the car was going to stall but saves itself. hmm how else can I say that....its like this: (vroom = normal ).. turn key vroom..bogbog...vroom. So far I have driven the car 200 miles and I dont know if its just the break in period or maybe no big deal, but yeah I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I would really appreciate it!
thanks,

p.s. one more question: the temp guage nob and the a/c fan nob...when I press those in the light is supposed to turn on and off...correct?

Thanks a ton in advance

The click noise when turning it on is normal, it is the security system deactivating the Engine Immobilizer.

^^^^^ wow, our security system does not have a simple "relay" that clicks....its a little more indepth than that. the clicking is either the ABS ECU doing modulator self checks (multiple clicks) or its a starter relay (one click with turning the key to the "START" position)

As for the bogging down. I have on 08 and it has happened to me 2-3 times over the last 8 months. It sounds as if the engine is missing for a few seconds then everything is ok and no CEL.

I haven't been able to duplicate it often anough to either worry or take it to the dealer. So I am leaving it until it gets worse.

If your vehicle does this all the time I would be taking it into mitsu as its most likely set a code in the engine ECU if its done it enough.

i dont think its a big deal, call up your local mitsu dealership and make an appointment to be sure. they'll have a listen and know immediately if its normal or not.

The clicking is a self check of the engine

No sure about the bog thing. Mine did not do that. the buttons on the ac control console can only be turned on and off if you don't have the fan dial set on auto. If it is set to auto, you just adjust the temp knob to turn the ac on or off. think its the same for recirc but not sure.

hey, limizkid
i have like 3k miles on the car now, and it seems to not happen as much anymore, and when it does it is not as bad as it used to be. I think engine just needed to broken in or something, but unless my car doesn't turn over, i wouldn't worry too much about.

this is supposed to be related to an AFR issue with our fuel mapping to where the engines are not getting enough fuel when starting up.

Apparently mitsu is taking this through congress in order to get a fix approved ??? (google source???)

If you tap the gas a little when this happens it should fix the issue temporarily until they are able to get a recall in for this.

Cool, where did you find this info? I am in Canada so a whole different story with politics and car makers up here. Hopefully they are working on a fix up here.

I am starting to notice it now the weather is getting a bit colder.

Happens occasionally on my 09Gts too.. The tmp soln to it: tap the gas pedal and start her up OR Turn the key all the way to OFF and do the start-up routine all again so she gets primed up and ready to be fired.
