car idles at 2000 rpms when i start my car. this continues until the car is warmed up then it drives normally. i went to autozone and the guy told me i had a vacuum leak but when he came out to listen to it he said he didnt kno what it was. help please!

 

FIAV failure most likely.

 

how would i fix that if thats what it is?

 

Either replace the FIAV, or the entire throttle body. You can probably adjust it too, but my experience is with newer and older versions of your car, not what you have.

 

2k for 30 seconds or so is normal if the ecu has a cold flash , if anything its likely your idle speed control on the t/b search on here for how to clean the throttle body, the fiav is non adjustable for the diy'er
