Help Fast!!! O2 Sensor Prob

i can't get my old o2 sensor off of the old cat (2nd one) to put it on my new test pipe. i have already taken off the cat but its difficult to work on it under the car. is there a plug anywhere so i can take the whole cat and o2 out to work on them? or any ideas about how i can get the o2 sesnor off while working in a confined space??

Did you get an o2 sensor socket from auto parts store? Makes life a whole lot easier.

Go inside the passenger side and pull up the rug buy the center console to unclip it. Then take a monkey wrench to it.

splice off wires from original o2 sensor, put connectors on both ends..buy new o2 sensor for test pipe, fit with same connector... now you can hotswap out the two!

The clip is very easy to get to, and when you have the cat on the ground just use something with leverage to get out the 02(pipe wrench, wrench with another hooked to end).

Where can you get a new o2 sensor for less than a few hundred bucks though?

Get O2 sensors for a DSM. Few miragers haver done so and save a lot doing the same job. Mitsu's cost shifting effort.

Very good to know in case of a mishap when swapping cats/testpipes. I went for the o2 sensor socket and that was $10 very well spent.

Muffler shops are not legally supposed to remove the cat. Fed law states the cat can be only remove if faulty or beyond 50-65K in mileages. Something to that effect.
