Hi All!

2002 Lancer OZ popped the CEL again. This the third one for an Idle Air Control Valve problem. The first, I got a new valve. The second, it needed "adjusted" and the dealer reset the ECU. Third one they could not find a problem, but the dealer supposedly flashed the PROM after finding a TSB pertaining to this problem.

All of this is under warranty, and I have the extended warranty too. But three (actually 4, they had to order the valve) trips to the dealer for the same problem is a little annoying since the car only has 13,000 miles on it.

Anyone else experience this? Similar? I am ready to start talking about lemon law if it occurs again. This makes three trips in less than 9 months.

I believe I had the same valve go.. it was that or the EGR, but I'm leaning toward it being the same valve you had.

Mine made the car buck and do some weird things... like I was shifting poorly all the time... sound at all similar? They replaced it and cleared the code (after a second trip back because they had to order it ) and then it was fine... they did try to blame the symptoms on my SRI, but whatever...

So you may not be alone .
