Bank 1 Sensor 3
Bank 1 Sensor 3
I have a service engine soon light in my 2011 Lancer. It has 64k miles and the light code is P0145. I've been reading online and in the handbook that federal emissions warranty should cover the O2 sensor. The dealership says emission parts are covered but the sensors are part of maintenance? Why are they not honoring this warranty?
Another shop wants $560 buck to replace it. Not sure what my options are? I can't do the work myself I don't have a place to do it or the tools. Plus I'm not sure which sensor I have to buy to replace?

NO, they should be honouring your warranty! The O2 sensor controls the fuel delivered and monitors the catalyst's efficiency, so it is an emission part. I would be talking to the general manager or call the 1-800 mitsu #. Tell them, where does it says in the owners manual @ "x" Kms/Miles to replace the O2 sensors.

I read in the warranty booklet that only the emissions parts with a * next to them are covered until 80k/7 years but the O2 sensors are not covered unless one of those covered parts with an * goes bad.
For some weird reason my Service engine light went away yesterday. I'm planning on getting a Blutooth OBD 2dongle to use with my Android phone for reading these codes in the future.
