I threw the rod of my 4g94 through the engine block. What can I do if Mitsu screws me on my warranty? What would a replacement engine cost? Or is it worth going for a 4g63 and what would the mods cost?

 

Do you have any mods done to it? That makes a big difference...

 

How did you throw the rod? What were the circumstances?

 

Did you crack the block???
It doesn't cost a lot to put in another 4G94 in.
Now if you did crack the block you have to get a new engine,
if not rebuilding and changing few parts will do the job.

i say that if mitsu doesnt honor the warranty, you try to get a mivec ralliart in the car.

I have a hard time believing you threw a rod and destroyed your motor without putting your car out of warranty. It took me 8 mos of driving from pig rich to dead lean to blow a piston, so I can't even imagine what you were doing.

If it's a legitimate claim...file it. Otherwise, don't **** over people with legitimate warranty claims.

 

how the hell did you blow your engine? driving backwards at an autocross?

i know a place that sells lancer motors. a friend just paid $400 for the whole motor. Swaped it in a day.

that is if you want to remain stock. Now if you want to build your motor then it will cost you more.

 

i blew mine too. threw a rod and pop'd 3 huge holes in my block. my situation was like i got hydrolock and it bent the rod. over a month's time..it just gave way i guess. cost me $500 and some change to get a new one. got it out of a junk yard from a total'd lancer. i saw some on ebay for 399.99 plus $50 freight. not bad. i had my friend install it. took him about 14 hours. good luck to yah
