140,000 + on my Corvette, though I have had to replace a number of parts. I think the prior owner(s) mistreated it badly.

Jay Leno says his Z06 is one of his favorite cars cause it's one of the only ones he has that he can really beat without worrying about breaking.

Don't forget that Vette's have their own seperate factory and their reliability is completely seperate from the rest of GM. Absolutely stellar reliability considering the nature of the car. Nothing in it's class can take such a beating.

I have not really been an American car fan, but let's face it, that car is a monster and deserves respect no matter what car you own and how much it cost. This car is amazing in every respect of performance… (I also thought the 03 Mustang Cobra was a cool car for the money and put a hurting on an Evolution in terms of raw power…)

I love the Evolution and feel it is a very different type of car driven by those with an appeal to its unique heritage and performance capabilities. It’s not for everyone, and it is not “rice”… Understanding the history of the Evo and other similar cars removes it from the “rice” category no matter how it looks… It’s no 2006 Z06, but it’s no slouch stock or with a few modifications either… There is a very short list of comparable cars when all capabilities are listed…

For me it’s about versatility and performance. The reasons that I have the Evo are very different reasons than most folks would own the Z06 or a Cobra… Comparing the two is in my mind is very strange… I also did not buy the Evo because Mitsubishi made it, I did not care who did… I am not sure most Evo owners care it is made by Mitsu and are full of brand loyalty…

If there was not a car in the class of the Evolution in terms of what it offers, I would not be in the market for the Corvette (even if it was $30K) or other cars like it as it does not fit my profile and needs for a car… I would bet there are a few others that feel similarly to me and feel it strange to argue…

OMG guys get your heads out of your asses for one second!!!!! The Z06 is a far superior car in everyway. My god people its almost embassering reading some of your posts. I am a car enthusiast not some evo loving *****. If its go 4 wheels, I love it plain and simple.

The z06 is badass in everyway and its completely 100% STOCK and warrentied. I owned an EVO and build quality just plain old sucked, the dealerships treated me like crap and my car was down more then I drove it for the "mods" to beat a stock car.

IF you car is faster in the 1/4 then a Z06 congrats. Hopefully you won't meet the same dude on the ride home and get raped on a highway pull and AWD isn't gods gift to cars. AWD just makes bad drivers better. Man o man I can't believe some of you people, jeez.

the zo6 is a fantastic car(all around) as is the evo, but you cannot compare these two cars they are completely different.They are both big bangs for the buck but very different cars.

 

Yeah look how much that AwEsOmE Corvette is going to be worth in three years, Can you say Half price. Depriciation sucks on vettes. That 75,000 dollar C6 ZO6 will be worth about 35,000 dollars in three years with about 20,000 miles on it. When is the last time you guys have looked in an auto trader magazine for your area, you will see at least 30 vettes, and maybe 2 Evos. I like having something unique, and original, I have the only Evo where I live, and I see a corvette at every traffic light, That is just lame to me.

 

because 03 evos arent going for 18,000? 3 years later thats almost half the price. and zo6s hold value better than regular vettes just like cobra r's hold value better than cobras, and the mr is supposed to hold value better than the gsr

I usually don't base my car buy on their resale value, I get what I want because I like it. Also people who have the money to buy a 75,000 dollar car don't worry about resale values either. It also doesn't make the car any less hot.

 

I really want that performance, but I really don't think I could hop in the cockpit of a chevy. Now the GTR on the other hand, God I hope that car will rape in stock and modded form, if it does, say hello garage, this is my GTR.

 

Thought I would point out that is not a Z06

It seems that both Corvette and Evo owners are bullheaded. They can play nice until someone puts down the others car.

Simple fact is that the Evo and the Z06 are both amazing perfomance bargains clearly aimed at different demographics.

 

Depreciation? Who thinks about depreciation when they're outrunning cars that cost 3 times as much?

BTW the reason you see so few Evos is because they look just like Lancer's which is to say 'ugly'.

 

Not Z06 how so? I'm not an expert but the body panels appear to match. If you mean the wheels well it's not all that hard to put aftermarket wheels on a car.

I say it's not a Z06 because it's not a Z06. Follow the link in his post or watch the video and it says he had the bumper and front and rear fenders from a Z06 put on. Still a badass Vette with all the mods he's done, gotta love that idle.
