For A C6 ZO6 to run a high 10.9 in the 1/4 it gonna take alot more than slicks.
I really dont care for corvettes at all. The old ones I like, the new ones just dont cut it for me. Especially the price. The new ZO6 has been dynoed in at 430whp. thats a 75hp loss through the drivetrain somewhere. There are three types of corvette owners,
1- the corvette enthusiest (collector)
2- midlife crisis
3- Someone who knows nothing about vehicles and just thinks the corvette is the fastest car out there.

Superscout,
I wouldn't be so sure about that. Ranger and many other's can drive extremely well. Many had pulled 11.5-11.9's on a DR/CAI C5 Z06. You will see some 10.90's IMO with DR's, not slicks, and a breathing mod.
It's pretty hard to say something negative about the best performance car under 125k from a statistical performance standpoint, but you go ahead and keep trying why don't ya

Why would they buy those luxery cars if they want supercar performance? I know plenty of people that would gladly take a C6 Z06 for 70k over a Ford GT for 150k, a Ferarri, Lamborghini, etc. just for the simple fact they they want supercar performance but the exotics are either not worth it to them or they can't afford them at twice the price. The market for a Z06 is VERY strong. Trust me.
BTW, I got to drive the new C6 Z06 yesterday. VERY VERY nice car. Definitely a steal at 60-70k.
all this fighting means nothing.....the truth of the matter is this....to run a high 10 second or low 11 and change nothing....anyone where would....give you the peace of mind... i would buy a z06, almost every person here would.....but i dont have another 30k...to make our cars that fast costs maybe 5k...so we still save 25-30k...but when something breaks we're ****ed...those cars are made to be that fast and will last 10 times longer than ours at that power....
it depends on the person..i personally like doing things myself and being proud that i contributed to the cars performance, but to be trouble and worry free is muuuuch better..

my Dad just ordered a new Z06 getting here June 1... I'm stoked... Not too mention I will be getting it given to me in 8 years since my brother was just given my dads old vette (98 vette).

you drive a freaking mitsubishi, not know for it's quality at all, and the evo's interior is very subpar compared to the new c6-z06.....vettes are generally very reliable as well, especially for the performance they put out.....to get to that level in your DSM, it will be hard to keep it running without things breaking
most of you ricers are magazine readers or go by urbal legends from what your friends tell you
bottom line is the new z06 is a better all around performing car than the evo, hate all you want
i don't care if you can put the difference in cost for mods and keep up, big deal, you can also put in $400,000 in mods and beat an S7, at the end of the day, it's still an evo.....you don't hear Z06 guys say "why buy a mclaren when you can put in $900,000 in mods to spank it"

thats a deal then!!!
