Yeh age is just a mind set. My dad drives the Evo and he is 50+ ( bin racing since he was 16 ) and he pushed me into building the Evo to where it is now. we share any car we own I guess we are a team and all my buddies in our car club always want him around any car events we go to. I guess I'm luck to have a dad like him at least thats what all the people in the car world tell me.

I was all about imports only when I first got into cars and my dad opened my mind to all types of cars and Motorsports.

Can't wait to get and drive the new Z06

I just dont understand.. this car is completely unpractical, insanely fast.. poor gas mileage, no room, expensive to maintain etc... so wait, why not just spend half the money and buy something like Ariel Atom that is even faster? When you buy a car like this, you have gone beyond the relm of sanity.. so you might as well just get the fastest car available for the money which is not the z06.

What the H*ll is a Ariel Atom and who cares. Very negative person

Ariel Atom is a car with no roof and strictly made for track racing. If i am correct the car uses the 1.8 motor from honda. Info can be found here http://www.arielatom.com/

Try to go 200Mph in a Ariel Atom... good luck on that.

or try driving it everyday! haha. There is no doubt they are sweet cars but not a car you can drive year round. Atleast the z06 you can somewhat manage year round, if you have to.

He said on the Z06 Quote: car is completely unpractical, insanely fast.

Pal thats why we buy cars like that.

I'm surprised he even drives an Evo.... kinda unpractical, very fast.

Maybe he should consider driving a Hugo.

Some ppl just don't get it!!

My friend told me that there is a wait of two months to put the Z06 in the Garage. Is it true? He told me that the price is very high like 75K.

Is possible to find a 2007 Z06 in stock for 65K?

To put it simply yes and in a heartbeat.

I can't believe many are saying otherwise.

I guess if you use your Evo as a daily driver then practicality comes into play, but pound for pound (weight being the only other thing the Evo is greater in besides doors and the number of wheels driven) the Z06 and C6 are better performance cars.

I'd sell my Evo straight up for a regular C6 Vette.

And the point about older men driving Vette's is an issue I could care less about. Heck, the stereotype on Evo owners isn't exactly great.

Besides the stereotypical "middle-aged" Vette owner won't apply to me when I'm driving it; not for another 25+ years.

This has got to be sig material

1. Looks are subjective, but I'll say that most people love the looks of a C6 --- this is an EVO site...kinda the last place I think looks should be mentioned.

2. Unpractical? How did you come to that conclusion?

3. Fast is a good thing. It can also drive slow if you need to.

4. Gas mileage is better than a stock EVO yet the car runs low 11's @ 125+

5. The interior room is on par or better than any other sports car.

6. Expensive to maintain? How expensive is changing the oil, washing and buying tires? Keep in mind the car has a 5yr/100k mile powertrain warranty.

7. The Ariel Atom is no where near being the same class of car.

In some areas there is a long wait if you are trying to buy one for MSRP and in others like Cal. it is very hard to get one at even 5-10k over sticker. I live in NY and they can be had for about 72k MSRP. Also there are a few used 06's out there for 65k. They are holding there value very well.

I have a signed agreement for MSRP on my 07 since I could not get an 06 last year due to the dealer markups which were anywhere form 5k to 30k over sticker.
I for one refuse to pay anything over MSRP thats why I waited.

As far as I am concerned the C6 ZO6 is the finest, fastest sports car you can buy for the money. Only cars costing 2-3 times as much will match this car in terms of pure out performance.

This mentality that my EVO can beat all cars, effects all type of car owners from Honda to EVO owners etc. We mod the Honda to match the EVO, the EVO to match the Corvette, the Corvette can already challenge Ferrari's. We mod cars because we dont have the money to go out and get the one car with all the performance we want.

With every car, there are points of negative returns when it comes to modding a car to match a higher performing car. When one reaches that point, you end up with a full out race car with complete lost of drivability, warranty etc. were another car is already at that level from the factory and probably for less that you modded your car for.

I am not blind to brands. There is a point when my modding my EVO will end. To me 300-350whp is the end of my EVOs engine upgrades. At this point the car will be more that fast enough for the road course. A true PERFORMANCE enthusist will never limit themselves to one car. There are always better cars.

yeah if somebody wanted to give me one for free, and all i had to do was trade my car, hell yeah. i'd trade my car for it, then sell it, buy my car back, and put the other 30k in the bank.
