I've already gotten rid of my VIII and am driving the streets in a hybrid in anticipation of the Evo X. I am looking to buy one after all the bugs are fixed. I will however being enjoying driving my hybrid around the next year or two until the first year bugs are worked out. I have funds set aside for this car and am waiting anxiously. My only hope is that I dont buy one as soon as they come out like it did with the SRT-4. This car is everything I want in a car that is why I had to get rid of my EVO VIII I was pouring money into it even knowing I would eventually get an X. So for now 50mpg will do until I get my X

I read the Road & Track mag. Say still in the works, however what they know is it is longer, taller, more power, auto and manual Tran, larger rims, lower profile, same "best handling vehicle", now with super yaw etc... price is 32-35K (Cheap). The new body design is made to look more like a BMW, Volvo to appeal to the older group with family. later Evo appeal only to less then 10 % of new customer; some reasons are rough ride, no automatic, street race look. For myself; being one of the older Evo owner I do like the new technology this X brings, however it is too TAME looking and BIG. I'll keep my IX, suspecting that Mitsu will come full circle .
***Today a Mustang (His gal in the car) accelerated from a stop ( myself not knowing he was RACING ) pasST me (him-BIG Cheater!), so instinctually I rev to 5K rpm and launch my stock Evo, caught up AND past him. He later drove by (Humbly) and acknowledged his defeat. HEE-HAW ****

I get the X, my wife needs an auto tranny, but I might keep VIII and buy X for my daily drive.

I'll probably keep my Evo 8. However, I'm thinking very hard on trading it in for the new M3...but I want to read reviews first, I hope it's not too soft of a car.

Mitsu hasn't reported great gains till the evo was introduced to the american market.. hin hint... there making money here ppl.. you think there not going to satisfy their BIGGEST customer..

The X is to satisfy .. its design is not 100% japanese unlike the previous IX editions.. look at evo 1 thru 9.. you can really see an evolution in them.. not just that is 100% japanese desing.. not so much on this piece of thrash ugly sedan. now what's this about having a auto-manual tranny.. if you cant drive manual you suck str8 up.. How are we going to be able to measure the driver factor when we both mashed the gas at the same time.. what can you say heh, but to blame your parts or claim the opponent cheated cuz he hit it b4 you..

WTF is going on with all these evos.. is like there being mass produced.. every body is getting one.. the resale value is dropping like crazy thxs to this.. 26K for a new RS WTF,,? and this is only in America ppl.. this is like the car to have for the avg american enthusiast guy.. the guy that likes to go fast in a str8 line.. I mean it seriously.. how many of you know how to heel toe.. or have driven a tight course..? i thought so so shut up.. many of these punks get the car and its like a race to the top for more power and who can pass the 1320 mark the fastest.. and it just so happens that this car has great acceleration and handling at a affordable price to a certain point of course.. nothing wrong with that, but its becoming a popularity..

Everybody is buying evos just to go to the track.. and see how fast they can go in 1320ft.. WTF.. only a few apply the whole package of the evo by going autoX, Circuit racing, lap attack etc etc etc.. the evo was not meant for ppl to place it in "D" and mash the gas.. if you want that.. then get a Ralliart Lancer.. !! Even is japan ppl despise the X.. something that was rare let me tell you.. i got peeps in japan.. and to be honest there not so hyped about the Evo as we are here in america..

If you get a X and its auto/mt and got cruise control and all the other chit that will come along with it.. I want you to seriously think about what you are getting, your leaving a whole culture behind.. a whole evolution of a legendary car.. and in my eyes all you're getting is a badge.. a badge tha will say "Evolution X" enjoy your new sedan..
^I feel dumber just from reading this. Mitsu is expanding it's market, like the subaru STi, and the Chevy Corvette, they will offer more convience options to there vechicals to attract older buyers, who buy the way have more money.

I know this is an old post but.... You do realise that the Evo has been available with such items as cruise control, climate control, and navigation in Japan and Europe for a while now, right? And, wow, who would think that putting an Automatic into an Evo would ever cross somebody's mind. Oh, wait, didn't they already do that with the Evo VII GTA? You know, the Evo VII, the one that was never available in the US market. Also one of the 'other' Evolutions that defined the brand before it reached US soil.

For someone who proclaims to know all about the 'Evolution' of the Evolution you really don't know a lot. You're probably just a fan boy who got hooked when he Saw fast & furious 2.

As for me: I'll be getting a X. Yeah, I'll be getting the flappy paddles too. It'll be my third Evo also; and if it means leaving behind a 'culture' of a$$holes like you then it will be the best choice to make.

DITTO! What an assclown! I will be first in line to get an X, paddleshifters and all. Oh, and if cruise and leather are available options , I'll be marking those boxes with a big fat SHARPIE!

I don't have an EVO of any models. I wish that I did. But I do own a 08 lancer GTS and i just want to make a dent in my financing and wait till about the second year of the EVO and then trade my GTS in for the it.
As everyone said, it might be wise to wait for the the car to come out first.
The manual transmission for the EVO will come out a year after the Dual Clutch Transmission comes out(DC-T) So that might be the year to start peeping out the EVO. Unless your pockets are that fat and you can get the first one out there. We all shall see.
But I have a feeling we might all be surprised on what comes out.

And REDLINE, come on, now. Your forgetting that the car is an EVOLUTION.
EVOLUTION? To evolve? An evolving car? Yes? No?

And one more thing for EVERY EVO owner. I hate to break the bad news to you. But Mitsubishi is saying that the manual transmission is a thing of the past. I know that has got to hurt. I love manuals, but I am an innovator and I look to the future for things to come. If they can make it happen. Embrace it. you might learn something about engineering that take your performance cars that you wouldnt have dreamed possible.

Here is hint and this is no fantasy.
Their is a car that is already in the works from a major car company who is working for an independent contractor and his car norm will be at the speeds of 365mph. I understand that they are using a rotary engine.

Ain't that some ****?
