I've been worried as to what car I could buy in the next 2 years that would suit my needs. Currently Subaru doesn't offer what I'm really looking for.
I want a high powered (300/300+) car with awd, a good warranty that also has nice options like nav, bluetooth, etc. Sure the legacy is an option, but the styling is on the bland side even though i do like it. However it's in the mid 200 range and hasnt seen in increase in 3 years since this model's release.
Basically I want something that is a melding of an sti/evo and a luxury sport sedan (a4, 3 series, etc) but without the price of said lux sedans.

At this point Mitsu is hitting the nail on the head for my next car. It's a HUGE pita that my wife can't drive (read refuses to drive manual) my wrx. I'm always the one stuck jackassing cars in the driveway. We always need to decide on what car to take depending on where we're going, etc. It'd be nice to have the performance of my stage2 wrx (and then some) in something that my wife can easily get into a drive. This new dual cluth auto-manual would be a perfect fit!
I know all the guys on here are upset that the Evo X isn't going to be the purebred performer it always has been, but I'm happy that someone is making a car like this. I think it will make alot of guys that have other responsibilites (families, kids, wives, etc) as they've gotten older very happy.

If Subaru doesn't do something similar, then at this point it's the X for me. Though I would LOVE a nice 335i =)
Well said. Except for possibly buying another Subie.. Hahaha.. But for pretty much the same reasons. I'll be buying the new X.. Also because I love it..

I have followed the EVO X info from the gecko..

Evo X st8 up sucks.. its based solely on American feedback.. who wants cruise control and all other luxuries.. in a rally bred vehicle.. heh.. seriously..?? Mitsu hasn't reported great gains till the evo was introduced to the american market.. hin hint... there making money here ppl.. you think there not going to satisfy their BIGGEST customer..

The X is to satisfy .. its design is not 100% japanese unlike the previous IX editions.. look at evo 1 thru 9.. you can really see an evolution in them.. not just that is 100% japanese desing.. not so much on this piece of thrash ugly sedan. now what's this about having a auto-manual tranny.. if you cant drive manual you suck str8 up.. How are we going to be able to measure the driver factor when we both mashed the gas at the same time.. what can you say heh, but to blame your parts or claim the opponent cheated cuz he hit it b4 you..

WTF is going on with all these evos.. is like there being mass produced.. every body is getting one.. the resale value is dropping like crazy thxs to this.. 26K for a new RS WTF,,? and this is only in America ppl.. this is like the car to have for the avg american enthusiast guy.. the guy that likes to go fast in a str8 line.. I mean it seriously.. how many of you know how to heel toe.. or have driven a tight course..? i thought so so shut up.. many of these punks get the car and its like a race to the top for more power and who can pass the 1320 mark the fastest.. and it just so happens that this car has great acceleration and handling at a affordable price to a certain point of course.. nothing wrong with that, but its becoming a popularity..

Everybody is buying evos just to go to the track.. and see how fast they can go in 1320ft.. WTF.. only a few apply the whole package of the evo by going autoX, Circuit racing, lap attack etc etc etc.. the evo was not meant for ppl to place it in "D" and mash the gas.. if you want that.. then get a Ralliart Lancer.. !! Even is japan ppl despise the X.. something that was rare let me tell you.. i got peeps in japan.. and to be honest there not so hyped about the Evo as we are here in america..

If you get a X and its auto/mt and got cruise control and all the other chit that will come along with it.. I want you to seriously think about what you are getting, your leaving a whole culture behind.. a whole evolution of a legendary car.. and in my eyes all you're getting is a badge.. a badge tha will say "Evolution X" enjoy your new sedan..

I'd never get trade a car in at a dealership only to get raped over half the value of the car anyway... but I'd also wait for the kinks to be ironed out of this new X.

Keepin my IX forever and ever and ever! The reason Y i got the IX in the first place was becuz i didn't like the X look and new everything else. i like the rallybred version better anyways. X seems like just another sedan outhere like the reg. lancer. i wish it do well when it comes out though. more power for mitshu. i don't hate on any future version, just keep an open mind. IX is a sexy beast! SExY!!!!!

I dont think I will trade in the VIII I think its been the only first gen(to the US that is) car that Ive gotten that has never had any problems other than the ones that I've caused. I will buy a Evo X just because face it we get old and sometimes want something a little nicer and little more comfortable I think this is a happy medium for mitsu and will bring in a wider variety in age group.

Definitely will keep my 8... if I wanted an automatic, I'd buy a more refined luxury car
