Evo X vs. Evo VIII and IX
I remember reading very similar negative thoughts about the ix before it came out. It had only a couple very small changes and everybody was ******* the mivec head. I am looking forward to the new ride.
No way will I sell for the X- it is a bigger, heavier car with un-proven engine and platform, and semi-luxury appeal for more of the general market who would consider it an alternative to an Audi/VW/BMW rather than a hardcore enthousiast's car. I'll keep my IX MR, thanks
Keeping the VIII.. Will buy the X.. I think it will surprise everyone once it comes out.. Too early to put speculation on anything.. I seriously don't think Mits will put so much into R & D on it, just to have it bomb.. This has been in the works for a couple years now.. Only time will tell..
"I" can Mod my 06 RR-MR the new X will take extensive R&D to be able to performe any new performance mods. That will take years, so if you did buy the new X it would be like 1-2 years before any decent performance parts would be available. Now the Ballers will get it and Euro Mod it, you can be gauranteed that. So I'll stick with my MR and Mod it as far as I can go on stock turbo then who knows from there.....And I think the prodduction version will be so different than the Proto-type. Already the body Mods on the X have changed drasticly. Gone are the swooping fender flares, the rear end has been chopped off and now the trunk lid is inches long...too short..looks like a hatchback.....and the Price will be much more...

i think i'll prob. trade my 8 for the new 10. i bet the car's going to be sick! the block is aluminum but i heard it's actually heavier than the 4g63? maybe the extra weight is sum go fast goodies??! either way it's def. an option
I will most likely be selling my VIII and buying an X. I'd like to keep both, but we'll see when the time comes.
The X just looks like it will be "strong" in many ways. If the power is truly going to be increased in stock form, just imagine what the modding potential will be! The IX's were better than the VIII's, and I see no reason why the X won't be better than the IX.
The same mods on the IX, give more power than the VIII. I think it will be the same with the X. There will be so much more potential with less.
NO WAY Mitsu is going into this half @ss! Everyone is fearful of the unknown, but who is to say the unknown won't actually be BETTER!!!
And you don't think mods will be available? Come on....there will be so many companies chomping at the bit to get their products out there. Mods will be released within a relatively short period of time. Companies like HKS will most likely have an inside track to a car, and be able to get things out quick. Not saying HKS is the best, but there will be options out there.
It's going to be one of the biggest releases EVER! Mods is one thing you should not be worried about.
I can't wait to see this thread once the X is released. You guys won't be able to get rid of your car fast enough.
