The chasis is superior as well by being stiffer.

drivetrain is bulletproof? you know this how? Tranny is the strongest yet? link me to proof of this. Chasis being stiffer I agree with thats a nice +

Nobody said the X was better than a GT-R. His link uses the GT-R as the benchmark of track kings to beat. His link also highlites a company (Jun) that beleives it can beat the benchmark GT-R with a X. That's a pretty significant accomplishment for the X if it's done. Especially in the short amount of time the X has been around and after watching that Top Gear GT-R video!

The tranny is the same transmission in IX's, upgraded. Refined with updates, triple sycnhro gears, taken out a dedicated reverse gear, etc... Okay, so maybe it's not "bulletproof." But it seriously is beefed up. I know Noize knows a lot about the tranny specs so maybe he will chime in.

I don't know of anyone with grinding problems except Evo VIII owners. Yes, the X tranny is notchy, but not grinding.

you got that one right.
the end of the day it, this whole thread is pointless. But is entertaining after you did collect info's elsewhere from the net and come back to see how the people try to make the X looks bad. Specially those who owns one or not even owning one. Or now 2 years they spend in one.
And never even drive one on the track .
For me all the evos are great, each its own.

can you explain how you lost those gears?
Perhapes it might be the driver not the car?

Yeah man, I'm done in here for a little bit. I love all Evo's. All are great cars, all are great performance platforms, all look great. We all made different choices for different reasons. As long as you're happy with your IX, VIII, VI, X, II, etc... I'm happy!

Perhaps there was a TSB for bad synchro's. And perhaps these guys might not know how to drive, either? https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...synchro+issues

One factor since it was brought up was transmisson. I love how some boast about the X having the strongest transmisson ever. Why would that matter. The VIII and IX can already handle 800, 900, and 1000hp. Does it need to be stronger? Thats really a moot point.

I would worry more about shifting smoothness, gear ratios, and the amount of gears. IMO the evo tranny still is not that great in my book. The X shifts like a semi and has way too short of gears and is already having synchro problems. The IX's were pretty good but still short geared and a few synchro problems (save for the 6sp that has tendency to overheat 4th road racing). What they really need to do is make a 6sp like the MR but maybe a hair stronger. Almost all the European and Japan evos come stock with the 6sp as the ratios are very good. Too bad 4th gear likes to overheat. I think they should have Getrag make them a 6sp tranny similiar to the Supras but for AWD and put that in the GSR.
