I wouldn't discount looking for a used 06-07 or by then even an 08 Z06 when your ready. There a lot of younger buyers that are now realizing the track and power potenial of the Corvette and of course the Z06, BUT AND I SAY A BIG BUT!!! There are still a lot of ...um...should I say older long time Vette guys that drive their cars once a week and wax it like everytime they take it out of the garage These are the low mileage BARGIN CARS OUT THERE!! that I would take advantage of if I were in your shoes. Get a perfect used Z06 unstead of a new C-6....they are worlds apart stock vs stock. JMHO

hehe. sounds like my dad. if it wasnt for me it would only be taken out every other week in the summer the thing has 40k miles on it and its in 99% stock perfect condition. it could pass as new thats how good of care is taken of it. he waxes it like crazy lmao. when we get it out of storage this winter ima take some pics its insanely perfect.

HAHA Sounds like you'll have to take your dads car and blow out some of the dust in that bad boy. I'm sure he is very proud of his Z06 and will most likely keep it for a while.

Like to see pics. BTW what color is it?

^^^ Rob, as promised. Just a quick update guys. I dynoed the car today in a local dyno(addictiveracing) in Tucson. The temp inside the shop was 89 degrees and the shop is located at 2500ft altitude.

The car had 1365 miles with absolutely no mods(bone stock), car had 91oct:
457whp/427lb-tq on a dynojet

^^^ Thanks guys!! I have been told to redyno after 5000 miles because some people saw even greater numbers. I should had done a zero dollar mod, it is about removing the fuse for the rear muffler butterflies.

The Z06 is fitted with an exhaust that opens fully after 3800rpm. Not only the sound but the flow is enhanced. I can clearly see a big "dip" on the dynosheet from before and after the butterflies are open.

I have been in this dyno before with other cars that I had. Specifically I dynoed a GTI VR6 (174hpcrank) that put down 152whp with an air filter(same dyno). My Z06 put exactly 3 times that power 3x152whp(456whp).

Either this car has a minimal drivetrain or the engine is underrated. 457whp is kind of healthy number for a car rated at 505hp crank. Technically we are talking of 9% and change drivetrain loss.

Tomorrow and I am taking the car to the track(SIR). I am not hoping to blow wisles and bells but lets see what she can do..

Carlos
