Why? Can't you get 650whp out of a NA-T in like 4 seconds?

^^ have you lifted a 2jz block? I think t 2jz crankshaft weighs as much as a 4g63 block with a crankshaft installed. I know it is not true, but it is a huge difference. Plus I am able to shove the entire 4g63 behind the front wheels. This build is not just about making the power, but how fast I can make the car go around a track that has turns too.

Lots of people have issues with them. I'd just spend the extra money for peace of mind.

I might just keep the eagles. They came out of a reliable 500whp car, so I do not think this set has any problems. I am seriously thinking about running something else while everything is apart, but the fact that I already have rods make me not go a different route immediately.

This is awesome. I love IS300s and I love 4G63s. I think if done right it would be one of my dream cars!

Good luck with the build, I hope it goes well.

If you were to swap heads like this in an evo, the exhaust would be on the firewall, and the intake would be near the radiator.
and simply switching the head around and manifolds around will make the block work? wouldnt this leave the cam gears on the drivers side and the crank pulley on the passenger side.

I am slightly confused what you are talking about. I am buyilding a normal car, so the crank pulley and cam gears will be at the front, near the radiator. The intake will be on the right, and the exhaust on the left ( that is standing at in front of the car facing the engint)

That bellhousing looks nice, but so does all of your housings. The dry sump pan is almost done. I am trying to find a spare oil filter housing so I can make the friitings for the block. I just took apart an oem oil pump, so that the gear stays the same for the timing belt, but it does not pump anything. How much does the bellhousing drop down from the bottom of the engine block?

I would use stock rods over Eagle Hbeams 10 out of 10 times. Just a matter of time before they buckle. Chinese steel ftl

There is many 8s supras running ealge rods well over 1000hp and never had one fail.

8.40s eagle rods and 175 shot on nos on them. still going strong till this day.

On a dsm engine, awd or fwd, the cam gears are on the drivers side of the car. as is the crank pulley. on an evo engine 7-9. the cams and crank pulley are on the passenger side. So if you take an evo block (cams and crank on passenger side), and put a rotated 2g head on it(cams and crank pulley on drivers side), wont this leave the evo crank on the passenger side and the dsm cams on the drivers side. Or in your case, the cams by the radiator and the crank pulley by the firewall? lol

I will just take my chances then. Coming from the 2jz world, 90% of those guys use eagle rods, and they work out nicely.

You have to spin the head around for all the oiling and cooling holes to line up. So the cam gears and the crank pulley are together. The dsm head vs the evo head just has the intake and exhaust ports on opposite sides of the head.it is easier to think of it this way, when facing the front of the engine, dsm has the intake on the right side, and the evo has the intake on the left side. The blocks are nearly identical.
