So I got work done on the plenum today. The theory is to get equal amount of air to each cyl, you need to make the air speed up into thje last cylinder. I did so by cutting 2 wedhes out of the middle, spinning them around on the bottom, and welding everything back together. Now I have to measure everything before I finish welding it, and attach it to the runners. Anyways, here are the pics.

I finished welding the plenum to the runners, made the end plate, and started on the throttle body portion. Since October 10th will be 1 year since my car went under the knife, I am trying to get work done so that I do not loose motivation. I have seen it happen far too often on very large, time consuming builds.

IMHO the IS300 is one of the best-looking sport sedans ever made. Putting it together with a 4G63 (one of the best engines ever made) should be a win. Good luck with this project!

Thank you, I try to work on it daily for an hour or 2, so the updates are usually not in huge groups.

That's exactly what I think. Plus I am one of the few people craze enough to try to make this happen.

It's as easy as 1, 2, 3. 1-Tear down car with little plan except making it faster, 2-work on it as much as possible, 3-enjoy fast car. I have yet to get to #3

The intake manifold looks smaller once bolted to the engine.

Today I did something that I have been dreading for months. I removed both the front windshield and rear glass. It sucked. I was in the car cutting the glue for an hour and a half. Now my arms are sore, but it was worth it. The car is getting lexan all around except the windshield will remain glass.

Just went through every page of this build, looks awesome man! One question though, why did you decide to go with an ls1 transmission? Will this end up being rwd as a result?

I have a few reasons for the ls1 transmission, it is a 6speed transmission that will hold enough power. Also Bill already makes a bellhousing for it, so the engine bolts to the transmission with no guess work. Yes it is only RWD. Thank you for the support.

It is back to work on my toy again

Q45 throttle body arrived. It makes the intake manifold not look so odd.

On a side note, how do you guys think I should have the turbo face? I am torn between a top mount in front of the shock tower, and side mount in front of the engine. Here are 2 examples. The turbo manifold is my next project.

I would say in front of the shock tower.

For "reference" for you.... here's a top mounted HTA3586, RWD 4G63 Conquest setup that we did for one of our clients. This car runs 9's.
