Got more done on the firewall. There is adequate room to make a turbo manifold.

2500 lbs hopefully. I would love to get it down to 2300, but I think that is too much weight to cut

What intake manifold did you use? Or did you have one custom fabricated?

I would like some additional information on the bellhousing/trans. swap. Is this a common RWD conversion to the T-56? I think that it is awesome and am definitely interested.

Thanks,

Paul Langlie

Sr20's are stout, similer to the 4g63. I personally am not a big fan, nothing against the design, just prefrence.

I made the intake manifold, read the past few pages, it is detailed. I have not made the turbo mani yet.

Look up bills auto fab in ohio. Or check project zero g for more rwd swaps. Bill makes the bellhousings, and he said for every 10x 5speed bellhousings he sells, only 1 t56 bellhousing sells. Mostly due to the t56 costing over double what all the 5speed transmissions cost.

Thank you gus for all the support.

I hope this does not disappoint you, but it is not a drift car. Formula D rules say that no firewall modifications are allowed except for aftermarket transmissions.

My car's twin (the white ls1 IS300) is a drift car.

No worries about the "drifting" comment. Not a drifter here....I just know that with the power and weight of your machine, not to mention the balance, you will be sliding that car around a racetrack soon, I hope!!

So I got more work done on the firewall. I also mated the transmission back to the engine, and tried installing the pair again. Unfortunately, I have to cut out more of the transmission tunnel. That will be done in the next day or two. Anyways, here are the current pics of the firewall.

Interesting build. I like the LS powered car. What kind of hp are you shooting for? The only reason I ask is that it seems you are very focused on getting the weight out and more centrally located but, I'm curious about your thoughts on the trade offs in throttle response for a relatively small displacement and high hp engine versus a larger displacement engine for track use.

Based on my experience you can do a lot to cover up weight distribution issues but, when use the throttle to help steer a car it is harder to have predictable engine response in a small displacement high hp turbo engine.
