We all say that when we can't afford the expensive car. I've seen this argument so many times over the last 10 years I've lost count. The GT-R is the first car I would be loath to alter the suspension unless a real pro tuned it (Robisepc, Mueller).

I drove the GT-R, I love it stock. If I could afford the 2014, I'd have already ordered it. I got my first Evo in March 2003... after almost 10 years it's time to step up to a big boy car. I think if I mod this car it'll be inlets, midpipes and tune. I even love the stock wheels.

For the record, I've had a 320whp Evo 8, 596whp STI (and still had the Evo), got an 314whp Evo IX cause the STI sucked (2 engine rebuilds later), then an 340whp 08 Evo X, back to an Evo IX with 385whp and currently an 11 Evo X w/just a Cobb AP stage 1 map.

i can afford it...no problem...i have driven a few...like the car...just love my evo more...manuals are my personal preference...and i know for alot more money i wouldnt be any faster...or smiling anymore at track days...gtr isnt a upgrade if your like me and like your cars loud, bumpy, raw, racecar feel...some people will prefer asthetics or more comfort and flappy paddles...but from a performance perspective...look at WTA...all evos at top...drag records still held by evos...rally races or scca events...ect...weight will allways kill the gtr in ultimate performance...

I love my Evo and GTR and they both have things that I don't like. They are very different cars in many ways, but both are fun to drive. The GTR is faster on the tracks and highways; the Evo is faster in autox and mountain roads. GTR feels somewhat like a RWD car; Evo drives like an AWD car. I feel like an adult when I am in the GTR, but feel like a teenager in the Evo. People want to race me in my Evo, but will only stare when I am in the GTR.

If I have to get rid of one of them, I am not sure which one unless money is the reason. I can go on forever, and I cannot tell you which one I like more.

You can make the Evo keep up with a stock GTR, but you won't have the reliability, so it doesn't really matter how fast you can make it go, because they will never be the same.

A GTR is in a completely different performance league than an Evo. The Evo, with the 4G63, has been around for a couple of decades. One would hope it would have more records than a new car. Much of what you've said has been or still is said by Honda guys who think a swapped 1992 Civic is better than the Evo.

Even after a couple decades...wont matter...WTA evo...2200 lbs...900 whp...awd...gtr aint getting there...no honda at top either...drag honda will be faster...its stupid light...but its will get hurt on a track no awd....evo ct9a will probably go down as fastest production based track car of all time....with safety regs and weight comming into all new cars...

The GTR is a superior performance machine.

I agree its superior in stock performance...comfort...but most people buy evos and gtrs to mod...when serious mods are done...showing true potential of car...the records dont lie...evo holds them all...and a serious argument can be made that the weight will allways hold it back...900-1000lbs!!...will allways corner slower ...will break slower...will accelerate slower...no gtr can get down to 2200 lbs...go to gtr forums even they know a gtr has no chance in WTA...evo ct9a has dominated for greater part of decade...just physics...

Lol, typical fanboy stuff. The Evo doesn't hold all the records. The Evo holds some records but records are made to be broken. Nobody is shocked that a car with a 2 decade old engine has substantial development and parts availability.

The GTR wipes the floor with the Evo. Despite it's weight disadvantage, which is actually only 300-600 lbs depending on what Evo you're talking about, the GTR handles better, stops better and is substantially faster. The Evo can be lightened, but so can the GTR.

All the arguments you've made, none of which you've backed up mind you, have been made by Honda fanboys, Miata fanboys, Subaru fanboys, etc. when referring to the Evo. The Evo is a nice car, but it's not the end all, be all answer to performance. The GTR blows its doors off.

What do you mean no scca wins? SCCA is an organization and I can guarantee the GTR has won some events run by that organization.

What your "facts" tell you is that some Evos, with thousands upon thousands of dollars dumped into them, and with 2 decades of development, are faster than some GTRs. That does not support the blanket statement you are trying to make. All of the cars you're talking about are fully prepped race cars. You're looking at a few series and concluding that those are series are what matters. You are aware the GTR is in FIA racing series, right?

the gtrs in that post have thousands and thousands dumped in them to...and those gtrs are prepped race cars...so that tells us development will continue on both cars and evos will get faster in the next two decades as well...1 scca win in scca prosolo...with a s__t ton of evo solo/prosolo s wins...evo has been reclassed multiple times due to it dominating the class and driving all other entries away..FIA gtr uses 5.6litre V8 engine RWD and 600 hp lol (RWD is slower but done to make it fair to others in class)... couple wins..compare any series they compete in and facts will show you evos are faster...you got any facts or just believe its faster...or believe it will be faster in future...or they will all of a sudden stop development on evo...

Why would the Evo keep getting faster and faster? The Cyber Evo and the Sierra Sierra aren't. Eventually, they hit a limit. GTRs are superior performers. You're looking at the most extreme examples to form a conclusion. The fastest Honda Civic ran a 7.3 in the 1/4 so I guess Honda Civics as a broad category are better than Evos, right? Miatas have dominated autocross and have also been reclassed many times so I guess they are superior to Evos, right? You're taking isolated examples under highly favorable conditions, with circumstances that are not equal for both cars, and forming a conclusion. For most people, the GTR is the clear choice if they want a reliable car they can live with every day and still blow peoples' doors off on the weekends.

actually Sierra Sierra is retired...Cyber EVO's world record lap time of 1:28.851 was destroyed by nemo evo this year 1:25.0200 That's 3.831 seconds faster WOW (sounds like serious development recently)1:27.1820 Tilton Interiors evo would have also broken world record but came in second to nemo......they are getting alot faster...hondas will be faster in drag...in unrestricted classes evos are faster than miatas...there is also a standing mile record of 280+ mph by a ford gt... but this thread was a gtr vs evo comparison...so for comfy fast daily a gtr is a great choice...evo is in not as comfy or flashy if thats what you prefer...but has more potential...mostly due to weight...and is faster...
