Have a friend that's ditching the platform.

I like them because they're RWD, N/A (I would SC it too), cheap and sporty.

I don't see that as realistic competition to the Impregacy WRX. The WRX has such a better chassis this time around. The Dart chassis is pretty much garbage in comparison. They better have serious witchcraft planned to make it good, otherwise it will be a one trick pony like the last SRT-4s were, but at least it will have traction this time.

Not as fast as the evo but makes an excellent DD..
Not sure if serious?
I often drive a 2012 Mk VI TDI, and stock it can't even outrun a Corolla. I have no idea where you're getting those numbers, but even on APR's website, a tuned TDI only makes "173hp". Notice that's a crank HP estimate, they don't even show whp in advertisements, and their dyno reads much higher than most.

Maybe you meant GTI? Still, it won't make anywhere near 300 torque at the wheels.

I think the FRS/BRZ are fantastic and take well to mods, but get abandoned a lot due to people purchasing them for trendy reasons, then realizing the backseat is unusable. This is more like a Miata that you can put a day bag in the backseat, as long as your day bag is really tiny.

Evo is here another model year. After that, I'd go STI, then WRX. The MKVII Golf R will probably be very nice, but without complete end user tunability on the EA888, VW's propensity for shoddy reliability, clutches inability to take much power over stock, and the eye-watering German car mod tax, it's something that would be best experienced at stock power levels. The Dart isn't even on my radar compared to these cars.

Interesting. I hadn't read about how well it handles. I had automatically assumed that it would be pretty decent, but apparently not. How can they screw that up in this day-and-age...

My friend has the turbo dart. Its a solid car. It gets great mileage and he can chirp in the first 3 gears with the dual clutch. I could see that car being great with a decent awd setup.

My wife test drove the 1.4l Turbo dart and before getting out of first she said "this sucks, Id never drive this". Feels way more gutless than ~170hp should.

"Extremely limited numbers" + AWD + 325-350 hp + dealer markup = $$$$$

the car that excites me is a car we dont get as usual. I like the RS3. would love to own that 5cyl awd platform. I wish evo x had done that. thats what it needed for its ridiculous weight.

Maybe... Some are confirming that it's definitely AWD this time.

Otherwise it's a huge waste of hp and torque if it's only going through the front wheels.
