Near full time overboost? Nope. Overly efficient fmic that needs to be detuned with a block off plate? Hum.
You should repeat this another twenty times.Originally Posted by nemsin

Please stop adding all this noise to the thread. Please.

Great, continue with the anti-Ford speculation. Originally Posted by nemsin

Your tin-foil hat is too tight.

Amby, I want you to drive one of these, because what you've said about the R in the past. I think you'd really like it a lot. Not to buy, but just to see your take on it.

I guess all the companies that make covers for radiators to be used on cars in cold weather should all go and reengineer their **** too. LOL

eh i would say be careful what you wish for. I think we all know how germans love to over engineer stuff, this pretty simple solution could have been a cluster f*ck of tubes and electronic valves etc that could have been a nightmare to deal with.

Exactly. But no, let's fault Ford for finding the simplest solution which results in pretty much no cost being passed to the consumer.Originally Posted by Biggiesacks

Let's all ditch our EGR block offs, Kiggly HLAs, and crank scrapers because those are all way too easy of a fix.

Well, I'm trying to figure out how some weird variable of water injection is a bad thing. Mist gets sucked into manifold and lowers charge air temperatures. I guess from an OEM standpoint, they'd be super conservative about things. Originally Posted by moparfan

Then again, I'm no engineer.

Wonder if this could have been one of the causes all along of the random P0300 misfire code and not known it.
Back in the day, Nisei was doing testing on their competition intercooler, showing (in one test) that it actually lowered the temperatures lower than ambient. They were testing in coolish weather with mist, so there may have been some evaporative cooling effect going on externally. One of the vendors on here went ape-youknowwhat and said it was "impossible." lol. It was a vendor that gets angry a lot Originally Posted by whtrice

I think the condensation issue is driven more by the climate than something unique about the Ford charge pipe layout. Any humid environment with an efficient intercooler system should be able to cause this.
that was a trend for a while when rally cars did sprayed water on the IC because generally the average speed slower then most auto sports, and high temperature running engines for a longer period of time. But it faded out, I am not sure if anyone has it today.
They say it was measurable cooler when you sprayed it outside. I had it on my 8, I never noticed as a driver anything though lol.

I think depends of the amount of condensation, that is the key here. Not if its happennes or not.Originally Posted by mrfred
