usually those guys have a rich back ground from the begin with except Loeb and few others
this is general opinion of mine on KB criticism.
I do not think Ken Block failed his racing carrier miserably as was mentioned. He still runned in a first 15 in the WRC.
That is pretty good for my standards. The first 20 guys in WRC just have a stunning driving skill there is no way around that.
They are tenth of the sec or less from each other in each corner... You would understand the weight of that fact as soon as you sit in a rally car
if you ever will sit in a WRC car when one of these guys driving you around, you would understand how far we are behind them in driving skills.
Even if you sit in Group N car at WRC level.
Ken Block is a really good driver. He is a kind of clown, but there is nothing we should taking away from him as a driver.
Wr all know he def. a good entertainment for anyone who likes Motorsport.
There is a reason why EVERYBODY even those who talks **** about him walks away from the stages smile on they face after he passed by, flying or super sideways s etc.
For me he is the American Gigi Gialli. lol
Like Chris Harris said, "When Pirelli puts your name on a tire....you have arrived."
KB is a genius in his own right. The world loves marketing and he can produce it.
With a net worth of 200 mil .....who can say he is doing it wrong.
Endorsements from FoMoCo, Monster, Pirelli $ Castrol

That's why he was called "Road Block" in the WRC, because he was so competitive...lol
ok so he may not be the most competitive driver in WRC, he's still in WRC... that means he'll run circles backwards with one hand tied behind his back around anyone in this thread, prolly this forum..
I understand getting bored with the gymkhana vids cause they are more or less the same thing. but I don't understand calling him a bad driver... a direct driver that we can compare him too is Tanner Foust, in the events they've competed together Block was pretty close to Foust. and before anyone starts hating on Fousts driving chops, he beat Michael Schumacher at the Race of Champions.
People are haters, lol. Block is a better driver than 99.9999% of people on this forum. I agree that his Gymkhana videos have become boring to me, but **** it, I'd keep making them if I was him because they're evidently still popular and evidently still a good source of revenue and publicity.
I don't need to sit in a rally car to understand how close the top 20 drivers are. Yes, it IS possible to have a grasp on it without being part of the super, uber elite group of rally drivers.
LOL
I've met Block once, years ago. Cool dude. He was really friendly, polite, and talked with everyone without a celebrity attitude. Personally, I have no problem with him. The fact that he's in WRC means he must be pretty decent. Gimmick or not, I doubt Ford would put him in car just because he makes YouTube videos.
WRC and Gymkhana videos? I could think of worse ways to spend my days LOL
I'm hoping the next Gymkhana vid is a bit more interesting. Yeah, I'll still be watching it.
GKN's Electric Axle Sends 1475 lb-ft of Torque to the Rear Wheels
GKN is the company behind the hardware that makes the Ford Focus RS drift and able to do many other things while going faster around a track than a stock hatchback should. Now, the British engineering firm's latest and greatest is a new drive module that integrates a water-cooled electric motor and inverter with a single speed eAxle reduction gearbox. Measuring 300mm high and 325mm wide, the whole thing weighs just 119 lb, making GKN believe it's the right tool for the hybridization of smaller cars.
The integrated eAxle electric drive module generates a maximum of 87 horsepower and up to 1475 lb-ft of torque, all sent to the rear wheels. Complete with a combustion engine at the front, that sounds like one hell of a plug-in hybrid even without the complications that come with wheel-mounted electric motors.
We'll just have to wait and see which European manufacturer comes out with it first in 2019. GKN's current partners include Volvo, Land Rover, Porsche, Fiat Chrysler, BMW and Ford.
