Civic Type R announced for US. 2016 Civic debuts [MERGED]
i'd imagine someone in a harsh climate wouldn't be shopping for a CTR. other than that, i've driven in rain and snow with a FWD car and did pretty well.
i'm in central CA so i luckily don't have to sweat it.

FWD is best for fuel mileage as it is easier to pull than push. That and Honda has never had a good performance AWD system before.
Of course now would be a good time to start, but, R&D and not making it suck is difficult when never doing something before. And this day and age...people expect perfection.

LOL
Honda has always had economical cars that drove well and pretty danged fast (Type Rs). that's a really, really good combination. no reason to change it, IMO.
I meant a performance awd...the crv and ridgeline, etc, were meant for traction in inclimate weather. Not sure how they'd hold up to the abuse we put our cars through...haha
the pumpkin on the CRV is the smallest i think i've ever seen LOL
I was actually quite surprised at the beefiness of the Evo X drivetrain...heftier than most large RWD cars.
Oh man, I'd love one of these but after living in Winterpeg and driving AWD cars for 10 years there is no way I could go back to FWD for my primary car and I can't afford a new CTR for a summer toy
We'll have to wait for the 2016 civics, and then the Si, and then the CTR to arrive in N.America.... so I'm sure it will still take some time to see on the streets.
