i don't know why its so trendy to bash the neon anymore. granted, the first generations were junk, but ever since chrysler became daismler-chrysler, the quality has really improved in every aspect. i'm still not a huge fan of its looks, but i like the car.

im not bashing it, my wife would much rather me spend $20,000 than $30,000 on a car so i went to give it a serious look. my brother in law was with me and couldnt believe i wouldnt buy it. i liked the look (except for the wing) and the power was there, but it "felt" cheap after driving an evo. the seats werent good, i fit in them fine but the lumbar position and lack of adjustment made them uncomfortable. lots of wind noise, sounded like the drivers window was open slightly. my biggest turn off was when i looked under the car at the rear crossmember. its actually a section stamped into the underbody, the rear suspension arms are in reality bolted to the body itself. im not a rocket scientist, but steel is more flexable that aluminum. so stamped steel suspension arms bolted to a stamped steel undercarage is ultra inferior to the cast alu crossmember and forged alu suspension arms of the lancer. i like the lancer due to the sum of its parts. i dont believe the srt is a pos by any means and i actually like neons. hell i get my *** kicked in my 83' 944 by acr's at autoX all day long.

if you traded your car in withall that aftermarket stuff on it you got ripped off... you would have been better off selling all your aftermarket stuff and then trading in the car. if you like the srt-4 then i guess it was a good idea, me personally i think they won't last as long as imports and i am not a fan of the neon styling. throw up some pics of your new car.

I on the other hand despise the name NEON. Wish they came out with a better name than the NEON. It sounds queer...but I do like the performance of the SRT4. But the name...damn!!!!

How much for insurance? Do insurance companies treat it like the run of the mill Neon?

Stock for Stock..that could take your Lancer on the drag strip and the track... Possibly, preformance wise, one of the best cars you can get for under 20k...

I'm tried of people ragging on this car.. yea i don't think it looks the best.. and in the end it's still a dodge.. but it's got a pretty decent interior.. great preforamnce for the price..and it ain't that bad..even i..whom hate american cars..can appaulaud dodge on how well they did with this car..

Maybe you havn't notice.. it's the same thing Mitsubishi did with the Lancer and the Lancer Evolution..

Congratz on the car man.. Deff post some pics!!!

Negative Point

Cool car, but no limited-slip diff! (what the ^&&*!@^*7 were you thinking Dodge!??) 8-(

On any tight track or autocross the EVO will KILL it because of this. While it's busy lightin' up that inside tire, EVO's gone.

Am I the only one who knows that Dodge and Mitsubishi share alot of stuff from there parts bins. The SRT-4 has a mitsu turbo on it. I think the car is really fast and fun, But they are ugly as hell!

when talking about cars and the word neon pops up i automatically think girls car, What a trader, no matter how slow a lancer "might" be i would never choose to drive a neon, no matter what. The SRT4 is no different from a regular neon, i take that bake their is one difference, one goes fast, but both look ugly.
