The Neon chassis doesn't support AWD or RWD. Doing a conversion from FWD to one of these two other layouts would require a massive amount of fabrication and modification to the chassis itself, probably adding more than the cost of an Evo on to the car's base price. The Evo tranny probably won't fit on to the SRT-4 engine, either. SRT-4s use a Dodge engineered and manufactured engine, based on the old Neon engines. It's the same 2.4L L4 Turbo that's in the turbo PT Cruiser, and the only Mitsubishi part in it is the 16G turbo, but even that isn't the same as the one in the 4G63; it spins the opposite direction.

everyone talk bout bein the best 20K car...IMO...the WRX still own in that class...is a lil bit slower than the stock srt-4...but if u upgrade both car...in the end...WRX will totally own the SRT...a true story, one of my friend drives a 03 WRX wit a few mods (intake, bov, turbo back)...one day...he was going on Route 46 in fort lee, NJ...a SRT wanted a run...they were both crusing around 60...and when both car start running...60-80mph...srt ahead 1/4 of a car...80-100mph...pulled even...100-120...srt was 1/4 car behind...some of you may say is impossible for a wrx to take a a srt only wit a few mods...but...is true

 

SRT-4 is 2.4L. Don't forget, Aussie Meathead, there ain't no replacement for displacement.

 

Well the neon SRT-4 is a great car. On the EVO your paying for the all wheel drive,One of the best handling cars in the world, and its a EVO! My money was well spent.

 

Reasons:

1. Evo guy can't drive for ****
2. Probaby still babying his evo and won't past 5k
3. Srt is slightly modded... Bull****.

I believe it could be #2 or #3, but if it was #1 he should return his evo and get himself a srt4.

Really, who cares guys... both cars are great performance
bargain at their price range... both are great cars..

 

I get on srtforums.com a few times a week just to look at the videos and every once in a while there is someone posting a EVO kill. I don't really care about the EVO getting beat, but it seems every EVO owner always agrees to go from a roll. Why?
Maybe it's just the SRT guys are just taping the races from a roll, but that is all I ever see.

Obviously a FWD will have a slight advantage on the highway so why not go from both to even the odds? If your gonna race, at least do both and make them play catch up if they can.

The SRT I raced didn't have a chance from a dig. After I beat him about 7 times, I asked if he wanted to go from a roll. I gave him the choise of gear and speed to go from. It was only fair. Too bad he still lost.
